While it's fresh in your mind, what type of setup did you use to get on the backups (nuts) inside the frame?
I fished a box end wrench though the control arm openings. I put Gorilla tape to hold the OEM flange nuts in place on the wrench while I got the threads on the bolts started from above. Once the threads were on, I lifted the bolts up with a screwdriver - used the frame to keep the nuts from spinning, even if the nuts pulled off the tape. Once down, I could reach in through the oval holes in the crossmember.

Modified the f body sway bar brackets to fit my car.. Stock brackets way to tiny for the 36 mm bar.

1 one the F body bracket holes is off center so welded it up redrilled center and elongated both holes to line up with frame.

Wellston, OK
Eyeballed the coupe while I aired up the flat tire on the wagon...

Why do all the long weekends come in winter? Turkey day, Christmas, New Year,... all too cold this year for the unheated shop

I miss the heated garage in Iowa (never thought I'd say THAT)

Put in a new starter, the old one would freeze up like every 3 times I went to start the car and I'd have to beat it with a tire iron to get it to turn over. The old one was also caked in an inch of oil and grease haha

Since last post 12/10... replaced leaky water pump, accessory drive belts (all three, only had two when I bought it, solved the P/S dying problem), replaced subsequent leaky radiator cap. Gave the Cutlass a good bath on 12/22, apparently the last good weather day of the year. All good now!

I'd like to see a write-up on that installation. With pictures. Fuel lines? Tank mods?

Consider pulling apart the old starter and maybe rebuilding it. Can't hurt to have a spare. I don't remember how much the parts to rebuild one are, but it's gotta be cheaper than a new one. Plus never hurts to learn a new skill.

Digested some Christmas food. Today (Wednesday) I'm gonna go back out and clean the other half of my transmission in preparation to shove it in my car.

$50 for a re=man with a limited lifetime warranty or $37 with a 1 year warranty... if you did a rebuild right, it'd cost more in parts and having a shop test the armature..... I like the way you think though, learn a dying skill, you never know when it'll save your butt in a pinch!
