Bought a 4.8L.

Did some body work. Had a major rust hole next to the rear drivers wheel, patched it up as best I could. I'll add some more paint tomorrow after this dries. Yes I know it won't match perfect, I'm not worried about that tho. I'll get it done the right way in the future when I can afford it.

Hope you like pics lol

After I punched a small hole in it

Knocked most of the metal out

Sanded down as best as I could get. As you can see, the rust ate two holes in the car.

Some rubberized paint all over the inside to help slow down future rust

I can't weld, so I used some mesh patches to try to reshape the metal that rotted away. I bondo'd this little section first (don't have any pics of that).

After the first hole was dried and sanded, I tried to reshape the body in the second hole as best I could.

Used Bondo Glass, Bondo Gold, and then this red pinhole filler from Bondo. Don't worry, it may not look like it but it's smooth

The paint is something I got NAPA to mix up for me. Its way more sparkly than the stock light blue but it's whatever. I just wanted to get rid of the hole (or at least slow it down from when it inevitably happens again. Ugh, why do they have to salt the roads lmao)

Tomorrow I'm gonna go hard with the underbody paint on the inside section to cover up the fiberglass and any bare metal. I think I'm gonna redo the entire underbody here soon too, cuz it's been about 3 years since I last did it and I'm sure it's flaking in certain spots.

Gonna go on a 3 hour round trip and grab a transmission for my car. Slam it in, hopefully it will move again.

went out to my buddies place, where my cutty resides, to work on his truck... decided while I was there, I'd show the forgotten child some love!
1st time in a year that it's been started... looks a little rougher than I remembered it being, but still solid!

Continued porting the cylinder heads for Quagmire the not-a-4.8L engine. I have developed a new appreciation for CNC machines.
