Finally got back into the shop and ground down and polished the welds on that bracket project. Started with a brand new micro wheel on the Dremel and it is now just about the diameter of a penny. Still have to tweak it for width but that is where I will have to stop because...……..
I am on 48 hr alert to go back in to work, AGAIN. Both senior couriers are out. One might come back later in the week but he just buried his Dad so maybe not; he was still on modified work as it was. The other one was has a daughter that is having health issues and now she is suffering too. Not sure what went bad this time. Feel for her because the schools are closed and the daughter is not old enough to leave alone by herself and too old for day care, which is moot because they are closed as well. (One guess why)

So my basic schedule of stuff to do is shredder material because there is no way I can string enough hours together to accomplish anything positive. Right now it is work and sleep, with maybe a meal and a shower for some variety. Fortunately the supply shops and hardware outlets are still open. My parts yard has a closed sign on it just like was mentioned by someone in the Corona thread elsewhere. Sort of makes sense due to everyone there having to work in close quarters and no real simple way to screen customers; like they would put up with it anyway. Can't even run the border for a consignment; it got closed last night at midnight. Could have made a run for it; a brother offered. But the waiting time would have been miserable and the whole process a total zoo.
Yeah, yeah, take pictures...… add that to the list of things to remember....ssssss.

I always liked to leave the transmission crossmember off and let the trasnsmision drop a little resting on a floor jack to make it easy to get to the top two bolts on the bellhousing with a long extension and a 9/16" swivel socket....
Great wrenching tip, thanks. Hope I will remember that if/when I need to pull the transmission out.

I mean I get the lower bolts in and then let the tail of the transmission drop and you'll see the top of the bellhousing to install the bolts...when I am linging up a transmission I use two long stud in the 3rd hole up on each side ans screw them in the engine so i can slide the transmission onto onto the studs and guide the transmission in place while it's hanging on the studs......no need to jiggle..

Another great tip, Thanks again!!!

Nothing huge, but tucked some wiring, installed the pass side non ECM kick panel (thanks again RKTPWRD), and went ahead and put the sill plate on. Getting a little closer everyday.

Warm enough to get into the shop without need the heat on; just had to chop away the ice from the lower door sill, again. Reworked my bracket just a little to bring the upper ears closer to each other. Drilled the mounting holes on the lower ear and test fit it to the existing mount on the Monte's tunnel. Used a transfer punch to ball park the upper holes and drilled pilots on them to see where they'd land. Used that plus a marker to set the final locations and gave it some willy with a couple of b*st*rd mill round files. Will test fit it again tomorrow, assuming I survive my shift.

I picked up a buddy of mine from work about an hour ago (it's currently 2a in NJ). On our way to the block I pulled up next to a mid 90s S10 at the light. We teased each other coming off the green and we went for it on a wide 4 lane desolate main ave. We came to a red light about 2 lights after (across the st from a police station lol). We have each other the power fist and as I made the left, I smelled coolant and noticed a small amount of smoke coming from under the hood. 😬🤦🏻‍♂️
At the next red light my Hooligan was idling rough. I pulled over about 7 blocks later, stepped out.. was a light scent of coolant but no leaks underneath, didn't notice anything wet leaking or squirting from under the hood or on the ground. We made it to the block, parked, popped the hood again. Checked underneath. No sign of anything. So idk lol my 1st time WOT vs someone and my nips got hard lmao have work tomorrow afternoon, will give myself time to give her a once over before I hit the road. Wish me luck
