These are all great comments. While I struggled with the pushrod for a bit. I got past that. My issue is the steady fuel leak that appeared out of nowhere and then hasn't appeared since. :blam:
Yea, I can see the scratching head part concerning the self sealing fuel leak. The other info is just in case you ever have to remove the pump again.

Painted the pulleys, brackets and valve covers. Ready to install them back on the block. Changed the stock, rag joint steering shaft to the jeep shaft. Trying to have the motor, and transmission in this week. Just have a lil more prep work to care for first.

Took the girls and went up the street to get some 93 pump gas at a decent price! Girl at the station was scratching her head as I filled up the "trunk" because of the fuel cell lol!View attachment 140782
It just means you can pull up to any side of the pump you like and fill'er up 😎 , I can't wait until I start doing that myself 👍

Today I pulled off the "Rocker Arm" Cover as the Chilton's repair Manual calls it: from the drivers side, wow that was a B*(%#@ to take off and put back on having to get around a couple of steel lines. I also painted the cover while It was off and while I was cleaning it.

Here's what was left of the gasket and yes it was in pieces as I show here when the cover came off, Now I know why it's was leaking oil like nobody's business. Spray painted the Cover and cap as close the blue color as I could find after cleaning them up. And finally got the new Gasket put on, though I had to separate the gasket and put the cover on as it was a real pain to try to get the cover back on. The bolts at first came off a little too easy, I made sure this time to give them enough snug or after I felt a little resistance to know they are tight enough. We've got a high wind warning going on for tomorrow thus I can't get to the cover on the passenger side like I wanted to, 1 thick red hose, and connections to the Alternator that have to come off before I can pull the Passenger side Cover. . . But at least it will give the silicon time to dry on on Drivers side cover.

Was not today but yesterday. I got mine out of storage and took it home. Took a picture of the two boosted six cylinders together for the first time.

I guess I got all the cars we drive in that picture. I forgotten how awesome my Monte runs! On my way home a motorcycle came up along side me when I was going 65. I let him have a jump and then floored it! We raced for a couple miles. Neither one of us could pull away. We were dead even. That I am sure surprised that crochrocket. I also warmed up the tires a few times on the way home. So much fun!
