Finally got my Hurst spoiler painted...got pretty lazy on Sunday...all I did was eat..lol. It came out pretty good. The second pic you can see the trees like a mirror in the clear...used some free repair clear I got at work. It dries in 5 minutes...good for quick painting of parts when you spray in a dirty environment.

I can't catch a break with the Monte, apparently while my fat fingers were trying to get to the pesky brown wire to tap for the illumination on the head units that I still didn't get around to trying to make work yet I unplugged one of the wires ran to the fuse box. Lucky me it was the wires for the new electric fans which then I didn't see going out to a car show until it was too late and she was already overheated. Pulled over and let the old coolant fly since it was shooting most of it out the overflow anyways to cool her down, threw some water to her and timed it to get the next light and worked out to be the next few on the way to the car show and she ran cool enough to get there and let it sit. Ended up being very glad I went cause there was a ton of scenery at the Mineral Beach cruise
Didn't figure it out until the following morning about the wire since I had called my buddy when it overheated and said both fans were running but not. I checked all the wiring, fuses, and anything I could think of for it and all seemed good. Quick plug into the right spot and she was back lucky for me because I drove her the rest of the weekend to a scenery filled weekend of car shows. Man I love this time of year and glad that things are starting to get closer to normal (for now)

been there, sucks.tell us more about the motor does it have any forged goodies in there now? what's the end game with it?
Luckily it is just the run of the mill gm 260hp crate motor. Plans for right now are to keep it mostly stock besides the xe268h cam i tossed in there a while ago. I was ditching the junk heads on it to use some 441 heads that have been worked over that my dad tossed my way (he just got shiny new afr’s for his nova). Once the laws change or I move so I don’t have to smog it I will dump money into a 400 sbc or go to the dark side with an LS. I’m going to talk to one of my local engine builders about getting a new crank and possibly balancing the assembly.

sounds good.i only asked because there's a lot of entry level cranks out there that won't set you back all that much that will work just fine.I'm sure your machine shop will get you back on track.

It's my buddies, it is the meanest sounding out of the bunch. It is mainly me and him that go out to the shows with another buddy who has an Audi S5 since the 2 lambos that we usually go out with are hit and miss with coming out, which makes me the peasant of the group.

While not doing the Model-A stuff w/my buddies, I'm pushing forward on my taller front tubs for the 'Bu when possible (car is currently stored/garaged in a different location of which I don't have unlimited access). I need to get the core support in to verify if things will clear but it's super close. It will likely need the tub or the heat-only cover tweaked for clearance but it won't need much.

I plan to get the drivers side test-fit ASAP & then measure to compare for the dimensions vs. the core support holes.

That heat only cover, did you have to cut up your existing case to use it? Or does the case split into halves and you bolted it to the half that is inside the firewall?

Maybe sending me a picture of the instructions would be easier for the questions I may have.

I don't plan to run A/C in my car, want to keep defroster/heater though (and I don't like the flat panel look for full hvac delete). Finding a good condition heat only case that would survive shipping is about like finding Jimmy Hoffa so I'm trying to find alternatives to me fabricating something from scratch.

I removed the entire a/c EVAP case. It does require you to cut up the factory case to allow for a better air-flow path through the heater core & that info is provided within their instructions.

I am not switching to heat only though since I'm in Texas. My intent is to utilize this 'factory appearing' cover on the firewall & using an aftermarket a/c set-up under the dash (Vintage Air, Restomod Air, Classic Air). I wanted a factory look under hood though & the flat plate definitely wouldn't work for me.

Pulled off some of the bondo the PO put on it. There was some rust coming through it. Going to pick up some rust converter. I really wanna try to have my rustoleum paint job done soon. I’m tied of looking at it the way it is.
