Bumper tried to escape on the way home this morning.
I noticed the crack Tuesday and thought it'd be fine till the weekend where I could fix it. Nope.

OUCH! if that ear has chosen to commit suicide now wondering what shape the rest of the rear frame horn is in?

Spent about four hours over as many days looking for a wiring harness that turned out to be for a dash and which didn't have the light blue wire in it!

Spent some more time futzing with the drivers door inner skin for my 85. Think that too much welding and grinding have work hardened the metal and created at least one warp. Thought here is that it may be time to use some heat to anneal the metal and get it soft enough that i can throw a jig at it to tweak it over and back into position/shape.

The rest of the frame is perfectly fine. Last year I had the body off and restored the frame and sanded/wire wheeled it to bare metal, fixed two bad body mount holes (both right after rear wheels), and primed and painted it. That being said I have jumped it a few times so...

Welded the mounting tabs back to the frame (top and bottom). A welder I am not, but they passed the hammer and yank test.

Shoveled my parents driveway where I usually keep the car during the winter. They go to Florida so it works out well. Since the roads were dry, drove it nick to my house so I could start with this year's round of modifications.

Took the Malibu out yesterday. Nice to roll it around but that tired 305 is getting tireder. I think one of the cylinders is getting weak and the oil pressure is a bit low at an idle in drive. But it runs fine driving for a worn out '79 305 I'm not gonna dump money into a 305. I'm just gonna run it until it drops and keep saving for the new Engine.
Went to a car show about a half hour away. The was a lot of beautiful cars there. From muscle cars to exotics and also a bike section. The military was there and brought some of their stuff including some helicopters. I tried to get one of the guys to fire up a helicopter so we could hear it but he didn't think that would be a good idea.
Enjoy the pictures. Wish you were here.

Once we got it off the trailer I fired up the camper van to find it puked its guts out the tail shaft of the brand new 4L60E.... nice.. add that to the list of stuff to do.
I fired up the 84' which I thrashed on all Friday night to make a runner again. I let it idle in the driveway for about 30 minutes. Longest it's stayed running for a year It had some pretty sketchy wiring I had finally sorted out... by bypassing.

I packed the contents of most of N.R's garage into mine and called it a night.
I'll pull D's S10 out next week and lay everything out on the garage floor and inventory it all and start making a plan. D mentioned keeping the 84 together for the season so I can enjoy it before I disassemble. I may do that as long as the 700R4 didn't get smoked last time I took it for a spin when the trans was way low.

Playing with the radios, figured I would try to get a replacement screen for the one I cracked out of anger over the summer. While I was at it I figured bigger is always better, fought with Joying for a while trying to show them that the 10.1" screen would work on the 8" unit but they still swear it won't work. Now I have to find my own way to come up with a replacement
