Shop that plugged the pin hole quoted $900-1000. I'll put a gallon jug on the hood for that!
They are selling you a list price. They don’t want the job.the last recore I did year or so ago, was $600 and the guy gripped but wanted a numbers matching and I had to repair the overflow tube to make it look perfect for a 1956 T-bird!

Drove it to LS Fest yesterday and was able to park next to a guy from IG with a badazz Malibu!! So much going on, horrible cell service due to beech bend being in a holler y'all lol.
I was driving through at one point and got pulled to go do a photoshoot for Nitto Tire and their website. Pretty awesome birthday yesterday turned out to be. Met alot of cool people. Going back for round 2 today before driving back home. I need to investigate the 70mph shimmy though, I don't like that. Couple pics. I should here from Nitto some time late next week.

Is the shimmy more of a shake at 70mph? Both my van and GTO had that, recently rebalanced the front wheels and it took it away on the van. Need to get around to doing the same on the GTO

Honestly yeah that's what it kinda feels like. They are 1 piece wheels. I might look into getting them re balanced and see what happens.
Discount did a miserable job at balancing the tires on the Roadmaster when I first got it. I ended up taking all five wheels/tires loose to a different location and they made big changes to all of them. I don't know if the balancer was out of calibration or if it was incompetence the first time. Point being, just because they've been balanced doesn't mean they are right.

and it could actually be the tires too separating internally and getting out of balance. had that happen a few months ago on the wifes car. kept pulling hard right during road test even though alignment was spot on. swapped tires and problem followed tire. threw the tires and wheels on the balancer and found them way out of whack. 4 new tires later, pulling straight and nice and quiet

Tires only have 1600ish miles on them which doesn't mean anything. I plan on taking them to a local aftermarket shop to be checked out. Discount did them for free since I bought the wheels from them. Free doesn't always mean good though.
