What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2023]

After 8 years, a windshield.
Just a Chinese one. I don't have $600 nor two weeks (local police Ive dubbed Rosco enos and Cletus keep harassing me about it) to wait for an "oem" one, so I went with this. I removed the trim myself and managed to save all the clips, however one must have either fallen off on the drive to Des Moines or the kid doing the window knocked it off. I'll try putting the trim back on tomorrow.
Anyone know where to get the plastic gasket that goes under the trim?

It's very odd to drive without looking through cracks.

Second pic shows the cracks, I tri d to not really post pics of it lol it was the most embarrassing part of the car but I never had the money to get it replaced. I only started getting hassled about it when I moved to this dumbass town, Des Moines cops have actual stuff to do and could've cared less. I drove my Ford with no plates for 6 months in dsm, and I got pulled over as soon as I left the gas station in town because my plate was down.

Think I just saw them on Dixie Restoration, but Mike’s Montes or NPG should have them possibly.

Dropped the monte off at the transmission shop yesterday - building up the 200-4r! Keeeping it mildly conservative with a 3200ish converter.

Day 4 of rust repair:

I got the rest of the patches welded in and the area painted with bed coating. I got everything put back together, and then gave the transmission an impromptu flush when I forgot to hook the trans cooler lines up.

I may have got the body bushing a little hot while it was holding everything in place.

thats actually a little flag i keep in my air vent above the radio.


I installed the trim today. series of firm fist taps and it was in.

Went to a friend's house who has a beautiful 79 Bu. He has a lift and offered to swap out my upper arms to adjustable ones to correct the pinion angle. It helped some, but still have a vibration to chase down. Pic of our cars at a big show over the weekend, and an underside glamor shot showing I did a full resto, not just a topside....
