Made some more progress on the daily driver tonight after work. Gave it a bit of a body lift.

Feels a little sketchy on a leaky lift that's missing all 4 pads and all the extension parts. I went with various scraps of wood. EJ was there to help like clockwork and when we got it up he decided we should stop and take measures to be more organized. 1 we are going to set up a table in front of the truck and label the table for the parts coming off. 2 ziplock bags and markers. 3 rope off the bey with caution tape to keep the parts guys out because we use that day to store new parts for incoming jobs. Then we decided as far in as I am we should do some upgrades. We made a list and I took advantage of that online sale today

It already has an aftermarket egt on the steering column and I don't like the location so A-pillar pod for 3 a boost gauge because I have no clue what the tune is like and I don't want to blow gaskets and do this again. A trans temp gauge because I will be towing a lot! The 3rd hole is to move that egt from in front of my speedometer and tachometer. Last but not least header wrap for the new up pipes because the new ones don't have previsions for heat shields. So that's it for today. I don't know what tomorrow will bring because I've got to get Lauren to the school by 6:00 for band. I may take her and go back to the shop I'll need to see if EJ is free

Had to replace the radiator on my daily beater HHR in work, then off to a side job.

Started cleaning up a few more parts of the LQ4. Pressure washed the front and rear covers as well as the windage tray.

Next up its cleaning the grimey truck intake. But that's a tomorrow kinda job.

Progress has been slow on this thing as it hasn't really needed to be in the picture..... yet. Gotta see how that plays out this weekend. 😒

I figured today sense I'm hemorrhaging money anyway between Lexi's Camaro and my truck I may as well spend some more. So I ordered aluminum mandrel bent intercooler pipes, clamps and couplers. May as well change the rusty stock stuff while it's apart. I don't want to work on it again for a long time. I couldn't get any actual work done tonight because I had to take Lauren to band after work so I'll hit it hard again tomorrow night. Looks like I should have everything I ordered by Monday I'm just praying the heads don't need much work and the injectors check out good

Don't blame you. That looks like an absolute pain in the *ss to do anything on. And who doesn't love a case of the "While I'm in here's"

Definitely a case of while I'm there going on. Unfortunately I am already over budget and I've got guys telling me all kinds of ways to spend it. "Get a new cp4" "do a cp3 conversion" " buy all new return and feed lines" "get bigger injectors" I'm like stop the madness! I just want to drive the thing not race it!

Anyway had to run some errands tonight. Took the shop truck to EJ's to pick up a table so I can lay out all my parts. He needed help picking up a heavy duty trans jack at jersey diesel performance in wall so I went and helped. Then I went back to the shop and scratched away at it some more. I removed the radiator support compleat with all the coolers wire harness and fan shroud all in one piece. Then I chipped at engine wiring and intake tubes.

I also picked the cab up higher to make some more room in there.

One of the many many things I'm worried about is someone knocking over my hood or scratching it. Or braking an A/C line. You know something to make me hemorrhage more money. LoL doing this I'd driving me nuts in general.

I just want to be done! I think I'm going to do the frame and bottom of the cab in Rust-Oleum while the heads are out

Given the lack of pads leading to wood blocks under the cab, did you include in your list of worries that some shop newbie goes in the bay and the cab flips forward landing on the headless engine?

If not, you're welcome for the added vision 😉

Yes yes I have. Especially sense we don't have anyone working in that bag during the day and we mostly use it for drying paint and storing incoming parts witch puts all the newbies in there constantly. I have warned all of them and the estimators don't even breathe on it and don't touch anything around it. So far so good
