What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2022]

I really wanted something that was CPO but nothing in my range of wants has stayed on the lots long enough. Missed out on two '18's that were CPO, low miles & priced right. I'm still looking cause until my plate is mounted on that bumper I still have options as I'm still looking to be safe.
Its entering prime 4x4 season with fall about to hit, that doesn't help. Neither does the interest rate environment sorry you're stuck there.
But I do want to get this hunt over with.
You could still spray foam the floor of this monte, might hold together. Ratchet strap the rrsr body to the frame. If you get bored, mad max it.

My interest rate is kinda good/kinda bad. CU's best was the 4.74% I got which isn't as good as the 3.5% we have on the wife's Santa Fe back in '20. Our bank wasn't as low & the dealers can't get even close from what they all said on their best. But like I brought up this economy did help from one point but smacks you in the wee wee from another.

Spray foam with some fiberglass cloth, Flex Seal the spray paint it all but then I might have to paint it yellow & put a plow on it cause it'll be like some of our trucks at work.

Modern steel body panels are paper thin anyway, what exactly is the complaint with the aluminum? I consider it a selling point as well.
Get in an accident with it. You'll find out. The panels turn into flesh shredders.

I was hit on the front driver side of one of our mustangs with the aluminum hood when someone ran a light.... it didn't shred?

I guess depending if you're hit hard enough just the right way? But I'm not quite picturing it. Actually, the hood was stronger than the steel fenders....

Friday night party!!! Just kidding I got no time for that. I got a truck to put together and I made good progress tonight. First thing I did was wrap up more wiring but I needed the fenders on to finish it. So I wanted to modify the RT fender because I modified the stock air box. I don't like those aftermarket cone filters pulling hot engine bey air so I cut the box out to the seal and cht the fender to match.

That last picture is a poor attempt at showing the air box installed to the fender from outside where the headlight goes. Sorry I'm tired. After I put both fenders on I finished up the wiring and buttoned up everything else under the hood.

ej stopped by and helped me put the hood on so I lined up the fenders and adjusted the latch. The batteries are dead from sitting so bleeding the fuel system was out. I looked for my battery charger but I don't know what my body guy did with it. So I'm a bit closer I hope to wrap it up tomorrow.

I'm probably going to attempt a little pdr on the left fender tomorrow I can't stand seeing that dent in it.

A bit closer is selling yourself short. Actually, that's looking pretty darn near done.

You should be feeling good about how little there is left, how far it's come, and how much you did so quickly.

Don't forget the zip ties and fender washers! It's holding the dash in one of those old trucks.

So who will be driving their truck first, you or me? You got the advantage since you have your truck & I gotta wait on the freindly mail lady to deliver my check.

Don't give away all those high speed body work secrets that the state uses to keep those mighty fine machines on the road. FYI the dead line & middle at the Barn is starting to fill up & someone stole our last running single axle while we were out dealling with a puplic complaint.

Another shed took it or like stolen by someone off the street?

I am but at the same time it feels like forever.

I bought a hole bag of zip ties lol

I'm back to a waiting game now I'm at the mercy of the tuner. I'm already having anxiety thinking he's not going to show up. I'm getting ready to go finish it now but I've got to go get antifreeze and another one of those taps for the fuse box with a 3A fuse. Dose anyone know if GM dash lights on the dimmer still ran on the light gray wires in 2011? I still have to get guage light power working. I would have done it last night but I couldn't find the battery charger.
