Took my C5Z06 out for some lunch with some buddies. Excellent day out here. Hit a few corners on some of the roads here, this thing is like a go-kart.🙂

And a 59-60 Studebaker Lark is da winnah!! Was not thinking Lark when reading the article; the Commander was an altogether different body Style. Reno Craigs' list has/had one up for sale already set up for the Gasser wars. Detuned and dropped a floor or two from its pentholuse height, it might make a neat strasse machine. None around here anymore, they all got raced to death out at the dirt tracks. Small size and a 350 meant they had an edge on the bigger cars. No frame meant they had to be seriously sub framed or things fell out. One driver used to run a Falcon and one time when the tow truck went to pick him up off the track after a race, the rear end fell out!!!!

Pressure washed the ef-juan-fiddy today and went through and hosed the frame out.

A hunter, farmer or dirt work contractor must have had this before me because although the bottom of the pickup is clean it was full of dirt and gravel.

These newer boxed frames tend to trap stuff. Best get to it while I can!

UH-HUH, and then run the air gun barrel down inside the frame rails and put some high pressure air into them to blow out the remaining water. After that possibly the how and what of how to apply rust protection to the inside faces of the frame rails and what products are available for the purpose. Something oily, gooey, and sticky that will stay on the metallic surfaces.

Side bar: from where/who did you score those neat looking rubber ramps?

Nick

How much of a pain is it to wash something like that off? If you shove it in a frame rail that you may not have gotten all the dirt out of, will this help said dirt better trap moisture or will it seep into the metal and be your best shot against corrosion?

I think this was round 2 on my dually shortly after buying it.

Here's how I bought it, dude buried it out in a pipeline field. Truck was used as a welding rig by the PO, original owner was an old man so it only endured a few years of abuse.
