So your choices are to either install them or frame them and hang them on the wall as the last of an ancient breed? Better be way kind to those gears, Pilgrim, they may be the last ones you'll ever find.

So today was some cleanup day. Moved two parkbenches and 2 sets of tires in the dilapidated shed, along with a pair ofnold metal car ramps. Came back with 3 bedsides, moved a car ramp to make enough length to fit the wall, and, this little b*st*rd was in there.

No guns at the property yet. No shovels either. So I nailed him with the flat side of some log equipment. Got 1/3 of him trapped under it, little b*st*rd was striking like mad but could get far. Then he turned to attacking the metal pole.

Now I've got to head back with the .177 pellet and finish it off later on. Thought about leaving it but who knows if the tissue would pinch off and the suckered would live.
This fella was waiting for me about a month ago...of course, he had a head when I discovered him about dusk. This was next day

You guys have fun with that.

I got my gauges buttoned up in the dually today, oil temps rode a bit higher than I anticipated and the trans temp spiked much faster than I ever dreamed was possible. There was a near 5000# camper in the bed though.

I need more than a 15 mile drive to better characterize this truck, I suspect once out of town on the open road everything is hunky dory. I basically made it to that threshold when I got off the main drag and tucked it into the hangar. Oil temps got up to 210 and trans peaked just over 170. IMO those are excellent numbers, especially for climbing a good 700', but they don't represent the worst case scenario and that's what concerns me. I have a ~1300mi round trip coming up that ought to arm me with all the info I could ever dream of needing which will include my ~9000# enclosed car hauler. Until then, here's those sweet Brazilian headlights loaded with Chineseum LED bulbs.

Nasty bite for sure
So I've heard, but never learned.

Closest i came was one guy was pretty pissed and agressive before id even gotten to the house. Came charging out of some ivy and struck at me. Luckily, i was wearing genuine thick leather shoes and walking. This was an attempt from at least 5 feet away. He scraped the shoe, 2 fang marks, but didnt penetrate.

I ended up on the deck and saw him stretched out on the concrete about 6 feed back of the steps, was a BIG one, he stayed put after the strike which was his end. Shot him, and what was left measured 42".

Hoping to not find out. We had a full 3 footer on the front porch a couple years ago when I came home one day. He was quicker than the last guy.

This one certainly wasn't fast at all. I was nervous it would get out from under the log tool, but, once it got 2/3 out from under the weight on the remaining section got too much and trapped it.

Because there's a wooden floor in less than good shape, and, how this guy appeared from nowhere in a previously empty shed, I suspect he/she lived underneath... which begs the question how many more are congregated there. The property wasn't exactly well maintained before we bought it, which, doesn't help the situation with these guys.

Likely it is going to accelerate our timeline to tear down the shed, burn the foundation, and do something new.
