This one was a compromise purchase for me. People are asking stupid money for tractors right now. I get inflation is real, but, I'm seeing non-pto riding mowers mostly listed at 80-100% of MSRP that are 10 years old.

Unless you're the waterboy these aren't cars, shouldn't be affected by ridiculous used car wholesale prices.

I came pretty close to buying a deere 455 with the 40 series loader and a 54" belly mower. At least it had utility even if it was about 2500 more than it would've been 2 years ago. But in the end I really wanted to dump more money into the new house than equipment for the time being.

I think it cleaned up pretty well. Here's the literal 'barn find' as it looked right before loading it onto the trailer, before washing it.

Honestly. You really gotta love preparing ahead of time.

So a few weeks ago, I got to drive a lovely lady out to Toronto for the night. We had a good time and made it back fine.

Now the day prior, and $875 later I got the car finally got out of the shop for a new steering box and transmission cooler lines.

So I wake up the next day, and do some errands in the Caprice. It stalls out in the middle of downtown, and I discover a fuel issue.

The idle has gotten pretty rough over the past year or so. Even without gauges, It’s behavior showed the fuel pressure not close to being as consistent.

So I had planned ahead, and bought a cheap fuel pump to run the Pontiac, once it has the motor swap finished.

Even this cheapo eBay pump? Wow. Eye opening. Honestly f**king eye opening.

Throttle response is GOATLY, no more hesitation. Whats also nice is I definitely have got MPG’s back that it originally would have gotten from factory.

I will order a ACDelco unit soon, as a $15 pump is more better for a back up.

Looks like it cleaned up well. Yeah, spend your money on the house for now. We ran that small Cub Cadet for 15 years, maybe a bit longer, before upgrading to the bigger 3000 Series Cub. The rest of those tractor were just flippers.

So far so good. Our last pony is still around, except, haven't been able to find a compatible deck for it to save our lives (outside of $700 in brand new parts) and the old one is shot. Made it through 9 years of mowing 2 cleared acres at one site and 4 cleared at another on a 42" deck...

So we'll see. They've got a wrong key jammed in, blades have some rust/wear so could use replacing, and I'd like to do a little more poking around on it, but, could definitely make money off it if I sent it down the road tomorrow so there's that....

declogged the trucks copper tube washer nozzles both clogged at the same time.

You can choose to season the sauce. I usually do. Onion and garlic powder, black and cayenne pepper, paprika, Lea and Perrin's Worsctesucsususreure sauce... and a cup of ketchup as a base.

The rub is paprika, cayenne and black pepper, salt, and onion powder.

Just made my own "Mike Rib" sauce! Pretty much same as yours just added a little white vinegar. Will try it with apple cider vinegar next time.

D@mn good bbq sauce sir!

my kid bought his first car. 2.5 awd 5cyl turdbo volvo. Honestly I am happy he bought an " old man " car as his first vehicle.
Its leaking at the rusted fuel filter. Plastic fuel lines and the underbody and body in general is actually really great for an 05 so for and old fella like me its NBD right? 10 mins and we can swap that filter out. ....... We are 3 hours in now.. So that green clip was supposed to remain in the fuel line when he pulled the filter off and is now leaking like a MF with the new fuel filter installed. So it grinded it off and put it on the new the filter and shoved all it back in the line and it still leaks. MF. Dont want to order a new fuel line just for a $.10 part. Ive tried a couple o rings, Dont want to resort to grinder ( again ) and hose clamps. I know i am a grumpy old man but I am frustrated by getting stopped by a darn o ring or whatever wont hold the fuel pressure
