I hear it's getting a 454 swap...
Nope. 454 out of a late squarebody suburban. Engine has tons of new parts all over the outside of it, prior owner just threw money at it hoping something would work neglecting to check the internal health.
I'd had this BTR Stage II turbo cam in my garage for a year or 2. I called BTR last year to verify what it was as it had a Comp Cams stamp on it and the specs on the box it came in didn't match what was showing on the web. I also seem to recall measuring lift and it not matching what was on the box either, actually coming up closer to what they presently show. Being older, of course the numbers didn't match what they have now so they really couldn't tell me anything about it. I put it in my aluminum 5.3 on the stand today to map it and got 241/249 @ .050". Yep, that's definitely too much for my stockish C5Z, must be what the box says after all which is 241/253. I'm between the 228/232 and the bald eagle cam that TSP sells as they cap the lift on their mid sized cams right at .600 which is great for the PAC 1219 and valve spring life in general. As for the 5.3, I cleaned up an LQ4/late LS1 cam I got for free fiddy years ago, slathered it in some Brad Penn camel snot, and stabbed it in. Cam bearings looked pretty damn good. The whole motor looks pretty damn good inside. A little brown, no muck, and very little wear. Gonna make a great LT1 replacement some day. Tuesday I'll hot tank the TB oil pan, valley cover, timing cover, and a bunch of other crap and zip the motor back up to keep it clean until I'm ready to buy an F-body oil pan and a gasket set. I'll port the stock oil pump too, it also had almost no wear. Yeah, I'm all over the place right now. This, the Monte, the Camaro (which is put together, just had a bunch more crap needing to be done), and the spare transmission I still need to get back together.
Trailered home some more equipment for the planned larger than ever 2023 family garden. Picked up a Craftsman 8HP tiller with sleeve hitch. And, a eight disc harrow with sleeve hitch. Both are rough now But I need to get them cleaned up and sorted out in the next 60 days. Pics below.

We are looking at about 150' by 125' (about a half acre) for the garden this coming year. Size is about triple last year.
Been there, done that... learned to downsize. Wound up with more leftovers than the chest freezer, friends, family, and work could consume. Once you fill your first bathtub with tomatoes and make a few dozen jars of sauce you may scale back too... then again, our growing season may be longer than yours. Even in North Georgia, tilling was by feb/March depending on water content, plants in the ground by or before early April, killing freeze around Thanksgiving.
