oh yeah? just had a customer in the store tonight for a rear wiper blade on a 2005 Acura MDX......geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezus! it actually has stamped on the plastic inside "Do Not Detach". apparently Acura wanted owners to buy a whole new wiper arm. Who the hell do they think they are making you replace a whole assembly? GM?

We sent a survey crew from our Houston office to Lampassas on Monday to work there for the week. When they got there, the truck got hot. They found the coolant reservoir empty. They got it filled back up and discovered a steady leak from the front of the truck. It's a 2020 Silverado 2500HD. It has like 75k miles. The radiator is leaking. To replace it, you have to tear down the front of the truck to get it out. You also have to evacuate the A/C and remove the condenser. The next time we're buying new trucks, we're gonna look at Fords.

Just a matter of time before they go that route if they haven't already.

Don't think they will be all that much better, my boss loves the Fords when its not our big stuff so we have a bunch. Most definitely wouldn't call them problem free, fuel and DEF issues are a regularity with ours.

All new trucks suck. Manufacturers are too concerned on jamming 10 pounds of sh*t into a 5 pound bag. Service has become a nightmare.

Long gone are the days of a simple truck like a square body where you can actually work on the Damm things and get to parts somewhat easily.

GMT400 was peak trucks. They just needed GMT800 power trains.

I agree with this a lot. I think my brother's 02 Sierra may be the high water mark. It's really been a great vehicle. I don't feel like my 08 Sierra is as well made a vehicle. It seems like it's been downhill since then.

I have the same feelings with my 2012 Sierra. Only has 117k miles. The dash is cracked. Interior plastics are in poor condition and rattle like hell. Poor factory paint. Rust issues on the rear wheel wells, numerous sensor issues. So on and so forth.

For a vehicle I bought brand new and have taken care of it has been quite the disappointment. And I have been lucky enough to avoid the Gen 4 AFM issues so far.

My 97 Silverado is still the best truck I have owned and the only one I regret getting rid of.

Had a few issues pop up on the 2006 Lacrosse that needed handled. One of the coolant elbows started seeping from the o-ring where it goes into the tensioner, and the rear exhaust manifold was leaking from the secondary air injection pipe. The exhaust manifold is discontinued, so I had to source a used one online, and it was not a fun job to install it.

Luckily every bolt came out without a problem. Unfortunately, I must've nudged the transmission dipstick tube enough to cause the grommet to leak, so I had to replace it, along with a gallon of ATF that leaked out.

While I did the coolant elbows, I replaced the tensioner, just in case the casting was pitted and causing the leak.

Once I got all this work done, I went to start it and the 5 year old battery was dead. I found the best price on an Interstate at Costco, it was half the price of the same battery from the parts stores. I actually have a new postive cable to put on to fix the fugged up terminal, but haven't got that far yet.

I had an 89 Cheyenne, regular cab, long bed. Navy Blue. That's the one that got away for me.

I wish I had that truck with a 6.0 and 4L80E.
