Alrighty, done sanding for the night as the alarm will be screaming early and I'm fed up with being attacked by miniature winged missiles! I got the lenses up to 1000 grit and they are starting to show signs of shiney life again!

I've been outside again burning more midnight oil wet sanding the corner lights. I got them up to 5k wet and they were looking great!
Then i hammered down with the polish and they really look awesome now for 30 year old lenses!!!!
Currently, they are 75% done as i still have to repaint the trim area....the humidity will be low enough to do that tomorrow(well today actually since it's technically Saturday).

After 5k...

With all the sanding and rubbing you are doing, I am surprised these lenses haven't melted on you!

Nice work Scott. Looking forward to seeing the finished project. You've really been working hard, putting in a lot of time on those lights.

To be honest, when using the 320 on the trim areas i could feel the heat beginning to transfer through to my fingers lol! I just let up a little...the wet sanding doesn't generate really any heat, I'm super careful when polishing with my drill!

I guess with the lenses being in great shape for their age helps as well.

Thanks buddy! After a little snooze time I'm at it again. I have to wipe the minor polish off that got under the tape, then get them ready to paint.

Pulling late nights to get all of the lights done sucks, but they aren't going to shine themselves! As said before, I keep trying to see the end result as to not get too bored sanding and such. I'm at roughly 6 hours in on the corner lights !!!!

Dedication!
Thanks man! I have a hard time knowing how the cutlass will look after paint and thinking of half assing something as simple as lights just won't cut it for me!

Sanding sucks, I hate the tedious process, but i can put in a couple hours each night after the kids crash and the results make me happy:D!
