A 60 degree drop in temps means something wasnt working at all.

Most likely the fan clutch.

So any fan change/repair would have had an impact on the temp drop

4 pages and all the suggestions have been ignored..........:popcorn:
Yeah, let me just put a solid fan from the 1930s on there or a helicopter rotor...

Where did you get 60* from? I said it hangs out at about 210/215. Idk whatever halfway between 190 and 230 is. My gauge goes 190 I 230.

Also, why are you using a 229 v6 fan?
The 229 used the same fan as the 305. From what I see in the Chevy parts book ('76-'81) All A bodies engines used the same fans, it varied based on cooling needs.It list a 7 blade/19" dia. for '78-'81 267, 305, 350 with heavy duty cooling, A/C. P/N 467895. Also list a 5 blade/19" dia. in place of the 7 blade for '79-'81, P/N 10001679. Funny thing listed is F body 5 blade fans for the '80-'81 231, w/o A/C P/N 14006718 & w/ A/C P/N 14017796, being the same as 229, 267, 305 (w/o A/C & w/ A/C). I'd say that 231 fan would of worked on the 350. Now back to some popcorn...:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

You didn't read my suggestions- Is the Radiator a 2 or 3 row? you need a 3 row-made for a car with A/c, and for a v8? Also, why are you using a 221 v6 fan? There is a reason why GM doesn't have a one size fits all fan. If you got a radiator for a v6, it won't have enough surface area to reject the heat a 350 puts into it. Do you have a temp gun? if so, measure the temps at the water outlet and the top & bottom of the radiator.& report back. Do some basic trouble shooting, just don't throw parts at it. Lastly, what are you using for a temp gauge? The factory gauge is accurate if you take it out & clean the contact points where it attaches to the circuit board & properly tighten the nut. Not sure about the sender- do some research to see if the 350 sender is the same as the engine that came out of it, not physically, but the same part number.
Its this radiator.
Its for V8 cars.
AC doesnt matter in my case because my ac isn't hooked up. My car isnt stock. I'm using a 229 fan because its what I had. My temp gauge is an aftermarket one in the pack of 3. My car is a Regal. No factory temp gauge. The probe is in the intake, the only place Buick 350s have for them.

His car is a 85, I believe. The fan, which All Star sells is a 4 blade non clutch fan that is standard equipment on my non A/C 70 Cutlass S. Briguy saw a 60 degree drop in temp.

Ah. You were in reply to that, not me. Apologies.

Yes. That 4 blade fan works awesome. $54 with shipping cost. Reduced my temps by 60 degrees. now it stays at 160 instead of 220
