Our 79 Monte Carlo- Pro Touring Project

We were loading for Good Guys Charlotte and I snapped this pic of the Green Machine exhaust system. It's Hedman Hedders (1-3/4" x 3) and Flowmaster d-port x-pipe topped off with Flowmaster Outlaws.

looks great, that is an interesting transmission support and I like how you have welded the hangers to the clamps instead of the exhaust tube. Are the collectors on the headers the ball and socket?

The trans mount is one-off for our particular application. It is poly mounted so the NVH is actually pretty minimal.

The headers are "open end" Hedmans with a Flowmaster ball n socket welded onto it. Makes for quick removal which we do quite often when swapping stuff around on the car...

I have the ball and socket, no gaskets to blow and almost no leakage if the bolts loosen up. That mount must quick to remove with one bolt on each side and you didn't even have to make humps. Another winter project for me....

I have headman headers as well and judging from the view of yours and the level of your oil pan mine are at the same position. The reason why I like it the way you have done it is with the humps in my support I can't remove the support without dropping one exhaust. I don't need to drop the exhaust to remove the transmisssion so your design will save me work...thanks for the idea

Hmm, never had those. Originals were KDW's, then Rivals. Now we run Rival S or in this pic, Potenza RE71's.

Ah, RE71s. But, RD08s are nearly identical. Thought you were on Rival S but noticed the different tread.

Rhetorical Question: When are they going to make the Rival S in more sizes? I would love to put a set on my 442 when I get the suspension and brake mods done but none in my sizes.

Tire p*rn.
