Is the fan, water pump, and harmonic balancer the only things I remove to get to the timing chain cover ?

And I bought snips to snip off the backside putter lip of the timing cover...

Once the gasket material is clean, is it safe to use Hi Temp RTV to stick the timing cover gasket to the engine block for the ease of installing the timing cover ?

The guy in this video says to trim the curved ends of the timing cover gasket...and the pan only needs to come down 1/16th of an inch to slide it in...

Tin snips and RTV...

Just nip the rear corners back, don't cut off the whole lip. You want that lip to keep the seal from squeezing out and into the pan.

Which one specifically do/would you use ?

Permatex is my regular go to.

Ribbedroof, as DRIVEN said, by cutting the lip corners, I don't need to mess around with the oil pan at all, or no ?
