Is the fan, water pump, and harmonic balancer the only things I remove to get to the timing chain cover ?

Silicone sealers are not as good when it comes to holding something in place. That means the 1st two options are not going to work as well.

Never used JB Weld Extreme Super Glue so I don't know what qualities it has. Does it list that it's automotive gas/oil/fluids compatible?

At Autozone trading the glue for weatherstrip adhesive
That's weatherstrip adhesive..... It needs to be gas/oil/engine fluids compatible.

It will likely work.

Point was, they make actual contact cement style adhesive that is spec'd for the oils/fuel/fluids automotive engine & automotive component gaskets are used with. Hopefully it won't be a problem in your app, Worst case it doesn't work & you get to do it again but the 2nd round you're schooled & current on what to expect. The RTV silicone gasket maker stuff will be especially important where the seams are & where parts overlap as mentioned in that other forums shared posts.

Damn... I have some of that too... But like 30 other guys said specifically to use "weatherstrip adhesive..."View attachment 192592View attachment 192593View attachment 192594
Gotta use what is designed/formulated for the job. In my over 35 years of wrenching on cars I've never heard of any reason why to use a body adhesive in place of a engine adhesive. There is a better item to hold gaskets in place.
The guys here are giving you some of the best advice on what to use from experience as alot of us have been screwing around with cars for decades.

Ive used gasgacinch for lots of things repairing motorcycle stuff and it works well to hold stuff and is easy to remove when needed as well....
Just read this whole thing...lol... good luck with it. I will say there was a point there in this thread talking about cams and oil pan sealing and uncertainty about engine etc etc where I was thinking...just pull the dang motor and put a 350 in haha...good luck to ya.

I can dig that, but these guys have been screwing around with cars for decades as well and it's worked for them on a number of occassions... I consider and research all advice given to me, and figure out which works best for me...

I'm more than likely on a budget at most times, so I can't always afford the things you guys mention. And when other reputable guys give me working and cheaper alternatives, that's what I go for...

Like scoti said, if it doesn't work, at least I can go back and do it again...
