I was just about to say good luck fitting those new hoses on a vertical neck. You bought the wrong water neck
No I didn't...there were multiple necks that were used on SBC 305... Which is why I bought flexible hoses with it...You bought the wrong water neck
Why is that ?I was just about to say good luck fitting those new hoses on a vertical neck.
Why not buy the same style that you took off? At least the same angle. No I didn't...there were multiple necks that were used on SBC 305... Which is why I bought flexible hoses with it...
Well it’s going to point straight at the hood. Those flexible hoses take quite a bite of room to make a 90 degree bend. Why is that ?
That angle position wasn't good for the new throttle return bracket...Why not buy the same style that you took off? At least the same angle.

Currently I have a home fabricated bracket that sits high, and the hose runs under the throttle return spring...
The new bracket is shorter and angles the spring down...meaning my current routing wouldn't work...

This is my OEM upper radiator hose routing...You are 100% it will bolt up to your engine. But that’s like saying all headers that bolt up to a sbc will fit your car.
The video you posted showing the swap to the flexible hose is on a much older SBC that does not use a serpentine drive and has a passenger side upper hose. Yours hooks up to the driver side and you have a serpentine drive to get around.
