Got clutch pedal stop and boot for through dash clutch rod in mail today. Decided to go with charcoal carpet as it will make a nice contrast. NOW... what carpet to buy
Check out ACC carpet. We used it in my brother's 78 Z28. Excellent fit and quality. Get the mass backed. It's harder to cut but it lays down great and provides additional sound deadening/insulation. We also bought ACC carpet for Dad's 62 Galaxie. We haven't installed it yet but it looks great. I'll be buying ACC carpet for my car when the time comes. I'm pretty sure several members on here have used ACC carpet in their projects. Here's the link....

I think RockAuto sells it as well. Also, my brother bought the carpeted floor mats from ACC and we're not sure about them yet. Just honest feedback.

going to drive the MCSS for the next few days. DD is up on jack stands while I swap out both rear calipers and rotors along with a brake fluid flush. Picking away at it after supper each night ... in the driveway .. in the dark ! **** I need a house with a garage !

I just repeat my mantra " monte therapy.... monte therapy ... monte therapy " LOL

Dropped the ole 350 trans out of the car today after work. Will start putting the 700r4 in it tomorrow when I get home. Hope to get some miles on it before the weather turns crappy and I park it for the winter.

Did you use any additional insulation or heat shielding?
Thanks

We used Lizard Skin when the body was just a shell. We applied both the sound deadening and the thermal insulation. We then used a product similar to Dynamat on the toeboards, front floorboards and the front portion of the tunnel. Then we put in the 'stock' sound deadening kit that seemed similar to building paper. Finally the carpet went in. The carpet is mass-backed and has the jute padding attached to it. When we got the car running, we drove around logging data for tuning quite a bit with no interior. We only had the driver's seat in it. It was astonishing how much the interior sound deadened the car.

So, my old orange car came back (she is like a trampy ex-girlfriend) had an issue with the Milodon one piece oil pan gasket...swapped in a Fel-Pro, problem solved.
