Got my transmission in the hard way. Took the trans out by itself from under the car. Screw that. I'm never doing that again. Everything about that process sucked so much *ss. idk how or why people prefer that way. Engine and trans out as one, even if only one needs serviced from now on.

Meh, not such a big deal when you can bench press a TH400. 😉

LOL, I think I still have gravel in the back of my head from my last laneway th350 swap. But at least I had just enough room to strap it to a small plywood sheet strapped to a floor jack making a slide of sorts. Still got fluid all over the place and crunched a few fingers. Never again !

eww mice !!! Never have I had mice in any of my vehicles. All this week been enjoying driving the Monte. Even in the rain and cold its been a pleasure. When I drive the car I toss the car cover in the trunk ( I don't have a garage ). I noticed today the grime was building up on the old girl ( I don't like to cover it dirty ) so I decided to leave work early. On the way home I hit up the coin op car wash. Gave it a power wash then soaped it down, wiped it down with a wash mitt, simple green on the wheels and tires, then a nice rinse. I even had time left over to blow most of it dry.

Drove home and pulled out the bucket with the wash mitt. Then I removed and went to put on the car cover back on it and noticed it had a couple holes in it; actually looking closer it had a bunch of holes in it !!!! WTF, wifey and kids just gave me the car cover for fathers day last year! After a little searching I was damned to find a mouse nest in my spare tire well the size of a large softball !! The Bastages had eaten up my car cover to make their nest. They were nowhere to be seen but there are 6 snap traps with peanut butter and a dozen or so dryer sheets in the car now. Lets see what is in the traps in the morning. Damn vermin

I went out to the garage in late October and heard little rustling noises. CRAP! Mice! I carefully tracked the noise - my new headers, still in the box. I quickly and carefully tipped it open end up and pulled out the headers. Got lucky and tossed the box in the back of the truck and hauled *ss to the arroyo a mile away and dumped those suckers out off the embankment. They had already crapped up the box, but the ceramic headers didn't care. Have not seen them back so, yaaay! Sometimes the Rebellion wins...

My grudge car ate another starter and the TH400 was no longer working quite right...

It pitched the second Vortec starter.

And...broke the case lugs for the Intermediate clutch...and broke the center support ....bummer

Got my new TH350 in. And it works great. Man, that thing had the CLEANEST fluid of any TH350 sitting in a garage I've ever seen. Like a nice red wine. All buttoned up, and would you know it, the damn thing don't even leak! When it all comes out in summer/fall, I'm gonna invest in some braided SS transmission cooler lines with AN fittings. I hate the factory fittings with a passion.
