What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

I got tired of the cars being unmovable up on jackstands. I put the adapters and Camaro wheels back on the coupe and put the S10 rims with almost-new Corvette tires back on the wagon. The Craigslist tires are sketchy but hold air, and I am not worried about the sidewalls going any further bad in the sun. The wheel adapters are a mixed bag. They would have been ideal if they were only 1-1/2" thick instead of 2". I could go to a wider tire and clear both the frame rail and the fender lip.

It looks like I may need to swap the wheel studs on the S10 unitized hubs - I'll need a bit more meat to feel safe. The M14 lug nuts that came with the adapters have a smaller shoulder than the stock 5th-gen Camaro lugs, so that will need to be changed before driving. Now if I could figure out where they got stashed...

In the process, I also moved both cars over on the driveway to make the wife happier. Now she won't tag the mirror anymore as she walks by. Who needs a gym membership when you can move four tons of iron with a floor jack and a pair of wheel chocks?
My spacers are 1-1/4. Just thick enough to clear the factory studs. They take special lug nuts don't use the factory style.

I got my 2+2 exhaust back on just in time for the National Pontiac show at Texas Motor speedway this week.

My dad came down and he going to hang out with the car and get verbally abused for having a Chevy motor for 5 days. He will love it.

Also got my Turbo Trans Am running and cleaned up. Going to put ip up for sale at the Car Coral to see if anyone needs the fastest american car built in the 1980's.

Plotting.

So a Chevy in the 2+2 and a Buick in the Trans Am, eh? You are just out to make friends everywhere you go, huh? Maybe next time you will LS-swap a Poncho and take it to the show...

Bring back some pictures.

I won't lie... If I was going to build a '65 GTO I would use a '05 GTO drivetrain. If Pontiac put the starter on the right side where it belongs I might think differently.

My favorite GTO is a '71... that one I would build with a 455... but that's pretty much it. The rest would get motor swaps.

Put a new piece of duct in the cutlass where the old one was busted. That stupid t under the steering wheel. Found a replacement in my dads junk pile back in WI last wk. "hey dad wtf gbody parts aren't junk yo" Fixed the busted exhaust hanger. Renewed both tags. Forgot the GP was due in may so yay penalty monies. Redid the stickers in the window for more HP. Put some more boxes on top of the GP. LOL.

I had a broken hanger on my drivers side exhaust. My usual shop where I get to do my work was out of welding gas so I took it to a Minute Muffler. They put the car on the lift and pulled out the welder to weld the rod back together. They didn't try to sell me a new exhaust or even a new hanger. When they finished they brought the car to the front and told me to have a nice day. I tried to pay but they refused, the guys said it was fun driving the GP and he never seen one with a stick or the power to let you have fun.....I will be dropping something off at that place to show my appreciation. ....🙂

You have to pay a penalty for license plates?

You have to pay a penalty for license plates?

Oklahoma at it's finest....dollar a day after the expiration, capped at $100 per year

Dollar a day on transfers that are not done in the prescribed 30 days from notary date, also capped at $100 per year. I was told if it was purchased from a licensed dealer, the fee was $2 a day

Bought an OT car a couple years back that had expired tags, and had been notarized almost a year earlier. By the time excise tax, transfer, registration and penalties were tallied, it was almost $500. The poor girl at the tag agent looked like she was getting ready for a major azz chewing when she came back to the counter with the tape, but I knew all the costs going in, and had factored it into the purchase price offer.
