What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

No, the car's a bit too straight for that. It's literally just a shell, that's the majority of the reason I passed. No dash, no column, no front clip. And the car at one time was painted up like a GL, but it's a 70 so I assume it was just a half assed clone. And it was still rusty. I'd rather spend double the "$4,000 obo" in cash and get the cleanest car I can. There's plenty of them out there. People are scared of these cars, once they figure out a dash is $2,000 aItnd up. These cars are just plain expensive.

It's hard to believe the car was in the TV show then. Otherwise, some collector would have grabbed it and it wouldn't have gotten to be in such a picked-over and scavenged state. More likely this car was parked in front of some Southern roadside bar somewhere. Smart move to pass on it.

Over the past week or so I've been doing some small things! Blacking out under the hood! Love how it looks! Painted rear reverse light assembly and redid the red stripe around it. Last I did some undercoating!

My friend who owns the stereo shop found an old Ungo remote that he has as a spare for an old car that he used to own. I don't know what happened with my spare remote and I was not about to spend $60 to $70 for one. I programmed it to work with my GP so now I happily have a spare just in case...🙂

well I just ordered my 2in A body lowering springs from summit racing. had a review from a Gbody owner so I went for it.. hopefully it sits my rear end down just right over my 20 with 275 35 tire if not I may have to do a little fender rolling but we shall see. I'm an aircraft sheetmetal mechanic should be an easy fix right lol

lol ive worked with a lot of stuff ill make it threw it lol.. my enemy has always been stainless steel though lol

I scraped the rest of the paint off my original '83 fuel tank. Then, I painted it with POR-15 in it original black color. POR-15 is amazing, magical stuff. Even with long pants, long sleeves and long rubber gloves I still got it on my knees and elbows!

I t was really nice weather so took the GP on a 150 mile cruise to test the fuel mileage of my carb. Fuel mileage was great and on the way back I could smell something burning and thought there must be a car fire close by. Didn't see one so I went faster to get by whatever vehicle in front of was smelling like burnt plastic but didn't find that vehicle. I checked all my gauges and the GP seemed fine. Then I saw some smoke that seemed to come from the back of the front hood so I pulled to the side and grabbed my fire extinguisher. Lifted the hood and nothing was wrong. Then I noticed the smoke was coming up from the dash right by the windshield so I removed the center cover where I have the crossovers for the tweeters and the crossovers were melting. Sure glad it wasn't an electrical fire but it was close. The crossovers still work though but I can't play the music at the level I had it. I have the Alpine R 6.5" component speakers up front. I'll get new crossovers Monday......
