Got my Cutlass loaded up and delivered to the paint shop on schedule! It should be there for a couple weeks while they do a once over on it, and give it a slick bath of shiney new base/clear!!!! It's been along time coming, I just hope it looks as badass as my vision of it!!!!!

Driver's side manifold is cracked, not surprised. As far as I could tell, that was the only blemish on these manifolds that I could see. My other set were cracked and ready to fall apart on the mounting ears. I think it should be a cheap fix. I'd fix it myself, but I don't have a welder.

Welding cast iron is a process not just throwing down a bead of weld.

So if you have it fixed make sure it is done correctly.

I know. It's a pita. Gotta preheat, use a special rod (nickle I think), then allow to cool slowly, I'll just have my local machine shop deal with it.

Yessir. I still supervise as she’s 15. She took over for my son with this 81 since he has just graduated Basic and is at AIT. He was wrenching by 6-7yrs old. Gotta build them memories.

Not a dam thing it's just covered up in the shop. Have decided on a cam change and new exhaust system this winter (I think it's already here was in the 20's this morning) Going to be selling the old stuff cheap.

I recurved the distributor I picked up Monday and installed it in my GP. It uses the same cap and rotor as the E curve but the cap is indexed differently so it was more than a 5 minute job......:)

Spent the last couple hours power washing 30+ years of BS and corn out of and off of my top end. Came out pretty good, got dark so I had to call it quits. There's some nooks that I'll probably have to go at with a brush and some degreaser.

Also my lifters and engine paint+primer came today. Now just waiting for crower to get off their butts and ship my cam. Still aiming to have it running by Thanksgiving. The cam is the last part I need to assemble the engine.

Took the GP out for a cruise and it turns out that e curve distributor was causing problems, I knew that my secondary air flap was adjusted right and found out the bog was being cause by the timing jumping around when I floored it. The e curve distributor is set up with the total timing and then the dials are adjusted to hold back the timing and to advance it according the dial settings.....
