What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

I finally fixed my blasted heater! The problem was 2 fold: first, the 180 thermostat I had in it was sticking open. That's why it cooled down so much on the highway. I dropped $30 on a new MotoRad 192 from NAPA, and it's rock steady, now. Second, the heater core was partially plugged with, I assume, DexCool mung from when I originally did the engine swap, prior to the rebuild as the heater core was new when I did the AC core. Flushed that out, and now the Pig is roasty-toasty!

More late night tinkering here

I took a ride up to this place today. Holy hell was it incredible. I've never seen so much old sheet metal in a junkyard. I have pictures I'll post later. I didn't find any door panels, but it was still worth the trip.

If I knew you were going up I would of had you see if they had a small block fan shroud to trim to fit the Cold Case. I need to head out there soon.

I finally found a set of door panels! I saw a Cutlass with a crushed roof parked on the side of the road with a for sale sign in the window. It was nice other than a tree fell on the roof. But I noticed there was another pretty incomplete Cutlass parked around the corner. And sure enough, it had claret interior and manual windows and locks, and the door panels were still in it!

So I called the number on the Cutlass with the crushed roof, and the guy called me right back. I asked him if he owned the incomplete Cutlass as well and he said yes, so I asked if he would sell the door panels out of it, and he said sure. O asked how much, he said $40!

So I met him this evening and pulled them out. I got the jute padding too. It's a little wet but it should dry out. If not I still have my original jute padding.

These panels aren't perfect, but for $40, they are pretty damn good. The lowers are excellent. I may put some SEM clear on them to protect them. The uppers are a little faded on the top, but not a lot. The handle on the drivers side is cracked at the bottom, but the screws will hold it together and I can probably even glue it if I really wanted. He didn't have the matching rear inserts, so I'm still looking for those if anyone has them. I also need the screw covers, I only got 2 out of the 4. I'm gonna try to find some Buick emblems to replace the Cutlass Supreme emblems.

IIRC those cutlass emblems are heat glued or something onto the door panel. I THINK. It's been a while. I know there is something different about them than the previous years. So check that before you take a screwdriver and try popping them off or something.

And it was a freaking Canadian built Cutlass! Built in St. Therese it appears (STE in the RPO, plus the VIN starting with a 2). Ewww… GU1...… 2.41 ratio 7.5" rear gear.
