What did you do to your G-Body today? [2019]

I removed the steering wheel, dropped the steering column and removed the metal plate that sits above it so I could get to the rod for master clutch cylinder. I removed the nylon retainer and cut off the 3 tabs that were used to lock it in plane on the pin. I put the retainer, now a bushing on the pin and used the metal clip I got from my friend at the speed shop. I wish I had thought of that clip years ago when I did the conversion. The older stick cars used to use the metal clip for the clutch rod and I guess the cost and production time the nylon retainer was cheaper and quicker. If anyone is planning on a conversion and plan to use the F body master clutch cylinder I suggest to get a clip like this

For your headliner, it won't come out until all the interior trim panels have been carefully removed. They have to come out in a precise order as they lock into each other. That includes the trim work around the front and rear windshields, the door post plastic covers and the metal strips over the doors. You may have to remove the rear seat to get at the sail panels to remove them as they support the header as well. BE CAREFUL. That header is backed with a very thin layer of poly-styrene which is brittle beyond belief. Also the foam inner padding can and does die from UV degradation. I have a replacement liner for my 85 that I now have to refoam as all that foam that it had turned to dust.

Which metal strips?

These are factory on fbody manual pedal assemblies yes?

Replaced the cracked and nasty bump stops with some cleaner ones I found from an S10. I don’t think they’re the ZQ8 replacements that are recommended but they’re better than what’s on there now.

Went looking for a grommet/plug/cover that went along with the shifter cable for a floor mount auto-stick that kept the noise and crud from getting into the cabin through the access hole in the tunnel; AND Couldn't Find It!! OPG does not show it as a part number. Not sure where the old one got off to; been five years or longer since I pulled that whole area apart. it is probably sitting on a shelf, in a bag, with its screws and labelled, but sfa in my mind for the location. Physically it looks more or less like a circle, about two inches in diameter, with two ears for the screws. The ears are not in line with the C/L of the circle; but asymmetrically oriented towards the right side. Am I going to have to bite the bullet on this one and make a replacement or do these doodads still show up in the parts catalogue?
