Rewatching a couple times (for fun), that black poot could be once the secondaries open theyre too rich. That's my guess. That pull was to 5k (best power) and the previous test run he said the air doors didnt open till 4300rpm, so there may be something to that.

your secondaries are mechanical and were open long before that point... if the air valves don't open when the secondaries do the car bogs......

For those of you curious, here's a video my dad shot of me running my car on the dyno.

Recap: Not chasing any number, it made 247hp/274ftlbs to the tire that day, very hot and humid. Peak power at 5k. torque was measured around 2700rpm, give or take. 37hp and 9ftlbs better than my previous engine. Specs are in the video description, nothing special. Just what is a buick version of a 300 horse small block.

Is that an old vid or do you have the body back down on the frame?

I cleaned up the front brakes and they work alot better now so the Jeep is parked and the GP is on the road. My granson was bugging me for a ride so he jumped and got me to hammer it on these rural roads and he had a grin from ear to ear. I do have a few warranty issues though, the windows do not go up with the remote door locks. Lucky for me though the shop is open tomorrow to bring it in and get that warranty issue dealt with....

Drove it 60 miles to a huge car cruise with hundreds of cars covering a couple blocks!!! A good 15-20 miles of that was mowing along at 70mph and it did great! Hopefully I have the same luck on the way home.

Removed the F41 rear sway bar and started cleaning and repainting the Blazer rear sway I’ll be installing. I’m not the smallest guy in the world but man, working under the car is always so cramped, even with my jack stands fully extended up. I didn’t get to installing the new bar today as the paint is still drying and it’s 105 degrees here so I didn’t wanna be out working in that either. Tomorrow should be the day if all goes well.

Also pulled the T-top glass trim and cleaned and regreased the rods as well as cleaned up the plastic. I pulled the handles and sprayed them black to match the rest of the interior. I’m slowly doing away with all of the chrome in the car.

or i imagine if the air doors and secondaries open at nearly the same time unless the engine can swallow it all that extra air makes for a nice bog as well
