Well yesterday anyway, finally calibrated the autometer speedo and it's now accurate. Noticed a squeaky belt and couldn't see anything wrong at 1st glance. After looking further I noticed the PS pulley had began walking it's way off the pump shaft!!!! I pressed it back on all the way, and added a bolt for good measure. I'll see how it does later hopefully, worse case I'll be in the market for a new PS pump.

yesterday but Murphy pissed me off so I failed to report .....remembered my accelerator cable had too much slack with the Fast throttle body so went to the only local speed shop to get a connector to attach to the cable. I figured I would cut the cable and put a new connector on it. They had nothing in stock but could get it Thursday and they wanted $35 for it. Being cheap I declined. I removed the accelerator cable bracket that I made for the quadrajet, cut it and added some length to it and welded that on. Drill new holes and installed it. I had made a mistake in my measurements so I removed the piece I had added and welded a new piece to the bracket. Got it installed, changed out of my work clothes, got in the GP and fired it up. Reved the car and the gas pedal stuck so I shut the engine down and went to look at what I had done. Got my work clothes back on and tried to figure out what caused the pedal to stick. Now it looked like the cable was too tight but that was not causing the pedal to stick. I took the braked off and slotted the holes but I was still scratching my head. I knew the accelerator cable was in good shape so I took a look where the wire attaches to the pedal. The plastic bucket that installed in the pedal arm had fallen out and was trapping the wire cause the pedal to jamb but it would release with a little tug at the other end of the wire. I got the bucket installed and it was secure with the 2 prongs that hold it in place so I don't how that ever fell out of place. I figured I had it all resolved but when U went to put the bracket back on the threads on the 2 studs were galled and my 5/16" fine thread die was missing so the GP is sitting there til today. A long post like this for what should have been a 10 minute job...

got the studs and bracket figured out. I ended up removing the accelerator cable cause it was the ball on the cable that limits the amount you can pull the cable out was binding on it's housing so I tweaked that so it wouldn't stick but it seems the 24" cable is a bit too long. Turns out that the accelerator cable was so slack the other day when my grandson was in the car wot on the pedal was not wot on the throttle body. The GP is definitely quicker with the proper length cable....

The other day found out about a Tuesday evening show happening at a big seafood restaurant close to the house (like 2 miles away close). So I loaded the kids up and drove over to unleash the Cutlass since it's been out of the loop for so long! A bunch of nice cars, my 87 Cutlass doppelganger which is super clean, and some others. Felt good to be parked next to a nice Belair and have him drooling over the mods done to my car, detailed engine bay, etc. So far I'm thrilled with the response the car has gotten, y'all know I've put ALOT of time and money into polishing this turd. I've yet to see another Cutlass like mine around, maybe cause I'm dumb enough to take it to the level it's at lol!
Anyways, some pics....

So, there are car shows on Tuesday nights in Canadia and KY. WTF? Is this a thing? Ours are like the 1st and 3rd Saturday nights of each month....
Normally the tuesday shows here are in the spring leading up to the KY derby. Obviously the 'rona screwed that up. They have two more shows, last one being Aug 4th as the kickoff to the street rod nationals.
