I am currently in process of upgrading to AC in my '78 Caballero to a 1979 stock configuration.Okay, there is no "random BS thread" on this forum, and I don't want to make an entire thread for this help question.
Can anyone help me compile a list of necessary a/c components forward of the HVAC case.
I have the case, but everything else forward of that had been removed from the car before I bought it.
I need lines, dryer, compressor, compressor bracket but what else is there that I'm overlooking?
Thanks in advance.
Before you begin tracking down the parts, make a decision if you want a serpentine setup, or a stock configuration setup.
If I had known sooner the things that I know now (I've already spent the money on the bigger ticket parts), I would have gone '88-98 style serpentine (easily found at the wrecking yard), and ordered an Fbody condenser for 134a, lines, compressor. Then you also need the accumulator, heater water diverter valve, and various pressure switches and such.
