Are you using original GM ignition modules, chinesium knock offs or aftermarket HiPo types?Luckily my buddy was able to stop over yesterday and figure her out, turned out to be the Ignition Control Module in the Distributor

Oh and forgot while I was looking at the fuel system stuff under the car I noticed the pinch welds didnt hold up on the driver side so used a couple zip ties to pull it back in for the time being

So, I'm not sure how I feel about you using zip ties on my $50 car..
Speaking of,I think it was AC Delco since they had it in stock at Advanced. But over the weekend had more issues so guess we will see this week.......Are you using original GM ignition modules, chinesium knock offs or aftermarket HiPo types?
You know, this is going to sound really stupid, but, I had replaced a bunch of stuff in a distributor with new, supposedly good quality parts. And after driving a little, the car would chug and miss, basically lose power and want to stop running.![]()

I think you are referring to the metal "tang" on the distributor rotor that contacts the center terminal of the distributor cap.You know, this is going to sound really stupid, but, I had replaced a bunch of stuff in a distributor with new, supposedly good quality parts. For lack of better word, and memory is fuzzy because it was 2018, there was a little metal tab inside that made contact with a different metal surface as things ran and spun making contact to fire the plug wires/plugs. Whelp, wouldn't you know when I bent the tab by hand to a different angle than factory to make better contact the problems went away and ran like a top. Still does.
That's best description I can make because I'm fully dosed on pain meds, back is angrier this afternoon than.... [insert your favorite metaphor here.]
Sounds about right. Lined up fine at first, worked great for a while. But after a bit of run/drive time I guess either it deflected enough or something to where it was making sporadic contact.I think you are referring to the metal "tang" on the distributor rotor that contacts the center terminal of the distributor cap.
Yeah I will have to give that a gander, I appreciate it. I know my buddy cleaned up a lot of the contacts because they were a bit dirtier than I would have thought they would be since they aren't that old. May have an alignment issue like you were sayingYou know, this is going to sound really stupid, but, I had replaced a bunch of stuff in a distributor with new, supposedly good quality parts.
