What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2020]

Have you raced the truck with the built 70E or are you still refraining? It looks like a nice build and I totally agree with keeping the AWD in both trucks (Trailblazer, Typhoon). How many miles on your built 70E?

In retrospect, my 65E wasn't built right either time but putting an 85E in my 2wd truck was relatively easy so I have no regrets except that I spent a bunch of money on the 65E, didn't find the right builder and didn't do enough homework on my own (relied to heavily on the builder).

Total miles are pretty low; it sits most of the time. Sad face. Also zero racing. Sadder face.
But when I do get in it - I make sure to give it the beans. Happy face.

Lots of risk in this hobby, and people who will betray your trust for a buck.

2WD to 2WD isn't an AWD V8 turbo conversion whereby the builder wants to retain the OEM AWD set up.

I pulled the 60E out of the wagon for an 80E because it was the right decision for my 2WD application.

As mentioned on my 1500, I was able to reuse the original t-case by changing the input shaft over to a 32 spline. I'm a little lost here, are you referring to the TBSS AWD or something else AWD? Because IIRC the 6L80E has a 32 spline output and I know those swaps are being done to TBs so the input shafts are available. I'd like to do it to the wife's Envoy but I have too many other projects to entertain that notion.

This whole thing is about a turbo LS swap in a Typhoon/Syclone.

Not your truck or mine - at least not beyond the relevance of using a built 700-R4 or 4L60E which works directly with the OEM AWD system vs. a costly 80E conversion.

Aren't those the same t-case as the TBSS, Olds Bravada, etc? At the end of the day, a guy is gonna do what he wants. It's up to all of us to make sure he makes an informed decision.

I didn't get taken advantage of. I just picked the wrong builder. He wasn't knowledgeable enough on a performance build. I think I picked the right guy on the 85E build. Time will tell.

mclellan83 mentioned getting a pan modified to suit; so it may be different sized apples being compared here.

My point is he didn't have the strength of character to admit/acknowledge his limitations; and still took the job.

I got ya. I don't think he realized he wasn't the right guy. He was a pretty good old guy. He did a nice job on the stock rebuild on my brother's truck.

So..... I bought a car trailer. Any tips or ideas to make it better?

I got it with stake pockets, would like to make some type of removable sides to use it like a landscape trailer. Also thinking winch for ease of loading non running vehicles.

Nice piece of equipment. I'm jealous. I've seen lots of guys put a toolbox on the nose for straps, tools etc. Could also put the battery for the winch in there.
