I got the heads to the machine shop tonight. His shop is right nextdoor to our mechanical bay where the truck is. He came over and we decoded the original head gaskets it has "B" gaskets and I'm going with "C" so after there cut I'll be right in speck. Got some more Carnage photos for you.

My boss Sam had his Diesel buddy stop by tonight and he gave me some insight. Most matched what I read on the internet I'm heavily leaning towards the cp3 idea and he just might be helping me make that happen. He knows a guy. Gotta waite a few days for that outcome. If that's the case then a few other things are going to change also but time will tell. Until then it's all scraping rust cleaning and painting. I've got what I think is a cool idea in minde. I'm thinking about doing the bottom of the cab with paintable chip guard then 8555 bace clear over it and on the frame I'm thinking after wire brush wire wheel needle gun and scraping degreasing and sanding. Rust-Oleum rust converter and Rust-Oleum satin black. For contrast against the shiny cab floor. I'm trying to keep the all black look like the rest of the truck but keep contrast with gloss satin and flat finishes. Kinda like the black American flag on my black hood. That's all stuff I had no plans to do but while it's apart and I'm waiting for parts I may as well fix the rust and make it nicer. Sam insisted I repair and repaint the front bumper and if I'm doing the lower I may as well do the upper it's already off. Isuzu pig better run good!

I did Rust-Oleum satin black on my 1500 in sig, were I to do it again with rattle can I'd go for the VHT roll bar and chassis satin black paint. If you're inclined to load the gun, doesn't Eastwood make a frame paint?

Here's a copy/paste from my drivetrain saga thread on the Corvette forum.

Broke today's freshly purchased T40 bit from the O Reilly's "impact rated" set. What a ****in joke. So I ripped the guts out with the one detent bolt still in the case, you just have to knock a slider or 2 off to rattle it apart. I noticed black sealant at the front again, just like my C5 box. The C6 box had a gasket out back though, weird. I can't imagine setting preload with this muddying the waters.

Next I noticed some of the steels weren't fully toothed

And then these sections of raised teeth on the sliders.

And finally the 3-4 frictions didn't match just like in my C5 box, so this must just be the way they were built.

So I'm stealing the mainshaft, driven 5/6, and 1-4 steels/frictions. I need only buy a new 2nd gear, billet 3-4 keys, snap rings, and seals. I bought this C6 box back in 2017 around the time I picked up a Kennel Bell blower for it that will probably never go on. I paid $600 and the claimed 67k miles appear to be honest when compared to my 127k mi box. I think I can keep this whole mess at or under $1,000, but we'll see. It's unusual for a repair to come in under an estimate.

So while the garage feels trashed, I don't have shjt on clutch.

Everything to the right of the far left cookie sheet is C6 guts.

Those parts look in good shape. The passenger side guide pin you can leave in when you tear one down.

What Corvette forum is it? I've been looking to find one that isn't full of boomers.

Don't that magic happen in everones garage?
Come to my garage you'll learn a few new words.

My 22 years in the infantry I can conjugate **** like nothing plus I've learned a few special words in spanish, german, arabic & latin.
