.I get the hate for 5ft beds but nobody here is buying a brand new single cab 6.2 Sierra 1500 with an 8ft bed so your hate is unheard because cash influences auto mfg'ers not forum posts.
But, a huge part of the problem is the blackout of options. I'd bet you WOULD see more higher trim single cabs, if they were OFFERED. But these days the computer excludes any chance to order anything with mich equipment in a regular cab in the pre-covid world, and, in the post covid world dealers don't want to give you allocation for the cheaper reg cab vs the more profitable bloated fake truck

Sold a set of Amazon knock off Super 10 mufflers to make some room in the garage.

Pressure washed the house.

I've got a yellow jacket nest under my front steps I need to take care of this week. I've been filling the gap along the steps and sidewalk where they have been exiting with Diatomaceous earth. Seems to have been working a bit as there has been way less activity. Tonight I'm going to flood all the openings with my pressure washers soap cannon.

Anyone else have any recommendations? I've only really had to deal with a few nests on my eves over the last 10 years they are easy to take care of. This one... not so much

Well I'm focused on a truck lately for a different reason. I need mine back.
So tonight Sam and I got the lift working. Well kinda it needs one cylinder rebuilt but we got the cab down far enough to get the glow plugs out of it. So now the cab is about 6-8 inches above the frame so I can start sorting out more things. I put the new glow plugs in and a few other things together tonight. I didn't drop the cab all the way because I still need to put a plug in the down pipe and that came to the house today.

It's nice to finally see my cab again. Not a hole lot for done tonight because I worked until 6:00 and the hole lift thing took some time. Tomorrow I plan to jump right on it at 5:00 and stay until I can't think anymore. I think one good late night thrash should get me a lot closer. I'm going to do everything I can between the cab and motor then drop it on the bushings. Hopefully by Wednesday it's just the fenders and hood left to do

Looks like a truck again!

The new generations of so-called "Trucks" put me in mind of what rural folk used to do when they needed a truck and only had a car. Out came the tools and off came the trunk. Down home ingenuity then created either a truck box, or scrounged one from the local dump or just rigged a flat bed from boards cut from a tree that had been taken down to the local saw mill and run through the saw mill; or even cut by hand if all they had was a saw pit and time.

With just a 5.5 foot box added on for the illusion of a truck, you can't even get two standard size beer kegs in one of them and if you do there's very little room for the folding chairs and the cooler of ice and steaks; not that you'd be able to afford meat when you are paying off the load to buy your APV, aka "truck".

Australia calls them UTE’s. Was the original place to start the ElCamino. Most of the manufacturers made them down there. All started with a person wanting to be able to haul their sheep and use the same car to go to church on Sunday.
