We should find you a nice southern non-Florida truck that hasn't seen road salt or salt air.
I was looking on the local Pittsburgh Lithia Motors dealership to see if they had something in my range but nothing from the south at this time. 4x4 Z71's are either not popular or beat to an early death.

Any thought of buying something older? It's what I'd do if I had to replace my 2008. It doesn't sit well (not that that matters) with me that your truck wasn't drivable after that hit. Somehow we survived without all these electronics in these cars when we were kids. I don't feel like I want or need them.

4x4, z71, all-star edition with max tow pkg under 100k miles?

Really bad/expensive experience with a GMT900, cost more in repairs than I paid for it. Engine, transmission, rear end, electrical gremlins the selling dealership couldn't fix. I'm sticking with a K2XX. Would look at a GMT T1XX but too damn ugly in my opinion.

The older I'd go for would be either a '67-'72 or a square body. The way the computers are mounted was the flaw but it runs now.

67-72 market is weak compared to the square body these days believe it or not.

I bought a new 2018 f150. Nice truck for being ... new. Liked it better than the ram or gmc rentals I'd tried weekend rentals on before buying it.

After about a year of ownership I stopped driving it in favor of using my 77c10 instead entirely. I liked the visibility, seat comfort, and steering on the c10 better.

More bells and whistles on the '18 by far, just less trucklike.

I still like the driving feel and visibility on the c10 better than the gmt800 yukon too, although the seat and interior comfort on the yukon is OK. Different, but a wash as easy has advantages.

F150 gone to a new owner

OK, let's try again...

How about a 2014, z71, just a smidgen over 100k, and move you up into a GMC?

Ladies and gentlemen the cab has landed! It's almost 11:00 and I just got home
I'm tired
I'm not completely shot though because it's a lot cooler than it's been.

4 of the 6 cab bolts are in and tight I need a hand with the other 2 because the center cage nuts are broken and EJ and I got them out threw the floor. So far tonight I did parking brake cables, transmission cable, all the coolant lines, the charge pipes, master cylinder, hydro boost and power steering lines. Filled the pump, bracketed the intake bridge, shortened and soldered the lift pump wires that were 6 feet to long, soldered in a weather pack connector to the computer harness for the ez-link so it's serviceable now, found the tuner under the dashboard to find out it is EZ link not live EFI witch makes tuning cheaper, wired up the rad support. And probably more I don't remember because we'll I'm tired

I'm going to hit it hard again tomorrow because I can't work on it Thursday Lauren has a school band thing I have to attend. I'm hoping to finish putting it together Friday night

Got a late start, not as productive as I'd hoped, but still forward progress. First I cleaned up the trans and diff bits I didn't last night and then I sealed and installed the diff to the trans. Next the goal was to clearance the new to me Tmod trans linkage. So here we are, trans/diff/TT mated and ready for assessment with a freshly aligned shifter.

The interference was tough to capture in pics, here's my best attempt at 4th which seemed to be the worst.

Here's the witness mark.

And the tools to deal with it.

Here we are after round 1 of grinding.

I hit every gear after this, but had a smidge of interference. Here's the witness mark from 4th again, the only real source of interference like before.

Absolutely minimal, but after rehogging this and going HAM with the old Dremel flapwheel to blend it all I was left with this and ample clearance in all gears.

All tests performed with an aligned C6 shifter.
