Put the new battery into the El Camino in hopes that I was going to take it the next day to a show to see how it runs, my sister is afraid to drive it because she thinks it may break down on her. Ended up working late Friday so wasn't able to take it to Mineral Beach like I had hoped

Saturday morning my buddy talked me into going to a cars n caffeine event up in Wexford at the Bentley dealer, wasn't really a very big turnout. But they had a free coffee truck that seemed to cater to the hipsters since it had gluten free chocolate chip cookies and vegan strawberry bars to go with it. Ended up spending most of the time in line for the coffee and then went inside the dealer to get the A/C. Decided to go to Chic fil A for some actual food after

It was my dads, 72 he changed a lot around on while he had. When he bought it they used to drag it so it still has the 350 rat motor they put in it to sell, but he went through the interior to upgrade a lot of it. I'll have to look around for pics, talked my sister into taking it to meet my uncle with his T/A a few times

Thinking this might ought to be posted to my Orphan LS thread but anyway, finally scored a correct set of lower O-rings for the injectors and was able to plug them back into the manifold. Capped them with the extensions and dropped the fuel rail assembly down on the whole business. Then I had to lift it again because, going on, I happened to notice that one of the rail sockets had a small piece of O-ring clinging to it. Sure, nuff, off came the rail and there on the extension was the damaged O-ring. So that had to come off and another one installed. Added an additional smear of installation lube to the sockets on the rail and to the extension O-rings and this time it all snapped into place. For the curious at this point, the lube I mentioned is some type of silicone grease similar to what Ford uses to keep its distributors dry. The stuff was included with the O-ring set that I got from Lingenfelter through my local Indie. Tip/warning for those interested in the Lingenfelter O-rings. Yes they will fit the lower groove in the EV-6/USCAR injector. Issue is that the fit is exact. When you try to install the injector there is no clearance for the O-ring to ooze into so it tries to escape and jumps the shoulder of the groove. Every single one that I used those O-rings on had a segment of the O-ring poking out. So off they came which was something of a bummer because they were a good quality piece.

The chuckle here is that it has been so long since I first started this intake swap that I can't remember which side of the mill the fuel delivery is on; meaning does the fuel rail feed from the front or the back?? I was actually surprised to find that all the fiddly bits, screws and such, had remained in the box where I had put them and that I knew where that box was!!!

And then the rains came, which was a non-issue because I had exerted myself last night and given the lawn its periodic hair cut. I did manage to set up the portable vise and throw some time on the rear exhaust dumps for the Monte. Revisited the one and gave it another dose of wire wheel love, then dug out the other and started on it. Between the two, I managed to destroy three wire cup wheels so I must have been having fun. Think I will have to pop the gear drive cover on my 4.5 and check the gears; it is sounding a little dry. A quick wipe of #2 Red and Sticky ought to make them happy. Now need to put more cup wheels on the to get list, Again.

Work was slow today and Sam told me to go work on my truck. Ain't gotta tell me twice! Did a little trouble shooting and a little bit more online research.
Yup I screwed up! So when you get the cp3 and the kit you have to change 2 fittings in the pump and replace them with barbed fittings one is 1/2 and the other 3/8 but they both have the same thread. Well I got them backwards! Rookie mistake I guess I never claimed to know what I was doing I'm just doing it. I tried to get some pictures but it was tough I had to remove the intake bridge the air cleaner the A/C compressor and the belt but I got in there and got it done! Took about 15 minutes to prime it and just to see I hit the key. Wam! Fired up on the first try! I let it idle long enough to see it has a coolant leak at the upper rad hoses on the engine side and just shut it off.

You can't really see anything unless your kneeling on the radiator support with a flashlight and it's all tight in there so not that easy but I did it. IT RUNS!!
I also took a picture of the feed line that was on there I'm glad I changed it it was already swelling up my guess is they use cheap hoses in that kit but I changed it globex nextdoor gave me some

So Sam said if we are slow tomorrow I can work on it then also lol heck yeah I will I'd like to get it to the wash bey tomorrow
