What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2022]

Yea, he has a Cummins 6.7 now haha.

Yea it's definitely frustrating. Just have to find the subject matter expert on it.

I say LS is cheap because I've done several dozen over the last 15 years. I have a refined process not the stuff that nickel and dimes you, then again, subject matter expert.

95% of people are all talk when it comes down to the nitty gritty, they won't be there. Hopefully you can get some good help and figure out what it is.
I'm sure I'll just figure it out on my own.
The K&N brand oil has been know to nuke sensors on Duramax trucks. I was told AFE, S&B, AFR or Banks oil and no issues. I'd trust Banks, they seem to be top dog for quality on everything they make.

Granted it's been quite a few years since I was deep in the diesel game so maybe K&N fixed their blend.
Good to know thank you
Also, know you're absolutely not wanting to think ahead to the camaro, but, this thing is about 3-4 hours west of here.

I'm also sure it's not rebuildable.

If you want to look into it, like what you hear, and the guy will pull and load the engine into the barn doors on the yukon, well, I've got some wooden shorty skids and a junk 14" radial to donate to the cause that will fit onto the weather tech behind the 3rd row.

Getting it to jersey when we're thinking of coming up mid September for the big e might be possible
It is a possibility. I've got a line on 2 of them that would actually be free but one is front wheel drive and the other supercharged front wheel drive both are complete cars. I haven't really thought about it much in fact I haven't thought about anything much lately except the truck.

I welded a riser and receiver hitch to the tongue of my trailer so I can put my winch in it for loading/unloading dead vehicles.

Tailgate will still open while hooked to the truck. And with it there I can winch a vehicle all the way to the stop rail at the front of the deck.

Added new chore to the honey-do list...

Better half was at Walmart picking up a few things, someone hit the back of one of the mustangs.

Got it hard enough to pop the cover off the opposite side of the bumper too

Probably a $3k to $5k job depending if the unibody portion aka brackets the impact bar bolts to bent or not. I'm betting yes and leaning towards the higher end of things.

Police report filed, officer was nice. Insurance said it'd be a no-fault as its hit and run, but I lose my "3% claims free discount".... so, meh. Still come out ahead filing. Now whether we do a self fix, that's another story.

Pulled my tow pig out and washed it. Getting a new windshield tomorrow so I'll have it ready for the guy. Noticed the lower bumper plastic isn't clipped on right so I get to that.

Bled the clutch on my Z06, I'd cracked the bleeder loose to get the QD clutch line fitting back together. My engagement was just a smidge high, now it's back to normal. No codes or BS at all today so I'm pretty happy with that. Sold a set of new race tires to help fund new tires on this, 99% sure it's getting a set of 295/35/18 Toyo Proxes Sports. I have more tire "money" than I know what to do with. Probably gonna trade a set of tires for a worn out LS1 long block too. It ran fine and made the numbers, but not like a newer motor plus it had turned into an oil burner. I think a hone to the cylinders with new rings, polish the crank, new bearings, and send it. The magic smoke is out, I do believe the heads are off.

I went to pull mine out for a drive and the battery was low. I drive my Z06 once a week, every Friday. Probably a bad cell again.
Car goes through more batteries than a single woman on Valentines Day.

Mine has a parasitic draw, sometimes intermittent. I've been disconnecting the battery between starts for the last year+. Now I'm hoping more regular drives keep it alive, but I did install this to keep a maintainer on it easy peasy.

I've been looking into disconnecting it or a trickle charger.

My mom's Subaru had a similar parking lot hit and run a few years ago, busted a taillight and dented the bumper cover, broke the clips that the bumper cover snaps into. Didn't send it to the insurance, I got used taillight, bought the bumper clip thing, touched up the scrapes and pushed out the bumper cover... looked okay for how bad it was.

Didn't matter anyways because a year later, maybe less, she sideswiped the garage and they basically replaced the passenger side of the car- 2 doors, pulled the quarter, rear bumper, taillight, all that body cladding down the side, probably some stuff I'm forgetting.
