    Easiest Kill switch

If you have an electric fuel pump, simply take the fuse out & carry it with you. You did install a fuse in an electrical circuit, right? I don't know if thieves carry spare fuses with them, but this is one more way to hamper their efforts.

    T Type or clone?

Sounds like a blown head gasket. I'd stay away. It sounds like the owner has no F-ING clue about Turbo Buicks & thus has wrecked this one. If it has a popped head gasket this proves the owner is an idiot and either had the boost cranked way too high for the fuel he was using or he was just...

What do you think about this trade?

Here's the way I see it. You currently have a rotting away, plain-jane, run of the mill Grand Prix. It will never be worth jackshit to anyone but you. It's not a 2+2, so it's never gonna gain in value. The 442 is already a collector car with a value that is increasing every day. I...

    Is my car rare?

The fact that it's the last year of the RWD Monte SS makes it more desirable I would say. Rare?........ no. (not yet anyhow) Now, if you had 1 of only 200 1986 Aerocoupe SS's made.... that's rare.

    Chevy 350 or 305

Re: 305 Agreed!! a 305 with stock heads & a tiny cam.... 400 ponies. Dream on. The combo on my Cutlass I just sold had a 355 with DART heads, RPM AIR-GAP intake, 650 DP, 38* timing, 9.5:1 & a .498 lift/ 230* cam was just shy of 400 HP. Maybe you forgot to mention the 100 HP shot of...

    Posi traction?

Yea, without it a V8 will do a nice one tire fire smoke show. And as you look like a tool spinning one wheel, that 100 HP Honda Civic wastes your *ss from the stoplight.

just picked up my dream car

1st thing you need to do is get a Scanmaster. Without one, you have no idea if the engine is knocking under boost. You will destroy the engine if it's detonating. Once you get a Scanmaster you can check & moniter the various sensors and make sure they are within spec. You said it had a...

    Which torque converter?

A spragless converter is mostly for a car with a transbrake. It's the first part that sees the initial shock load of a hard launch & will break if used with a transbrake. You don't need a spragless converter.

    Which torque converter?

A 3,000 is a good choice. I fully understand the want of getting the engine into its power range, but on a street car that's torque biased, you don't want any higher. Look into Redneck Performance converters. A 3000 can be bought on eBay for $300/free shipping. They are a good piece. A...

    Which torque converter?

Do not go any higher than a 2,800- 3,000 RPM converter. That cam doesn't have wild duration. No need to go higher. But, you need to get different gears ASAP. You'll overheat the oil & burn up the converter if you don't get some shorter gears. I would say go nothing less than 3.42's. Your...

    Which torque converter?

Cam specs & rear gears ( and engine size) will determine what you'll need. Post them up & we can help. As far as weight, you have it backwards. You'd need a higher stall with more weight to get the engine into the power range to launch a boat. the lighter the car the easier it will be for the...

Side by side pics of G body rears? 7.5? 8.5?

7.5 has "fangs" hanging down off center section. 8.5 has larger "triangles" hanging down off center section 10 or 12 bolt........ count 'em. If you need to take your shoes off to get higher than 10, that's O.K.

    Engine Mount Trouble!!!!

Obviously a cheap shot from an Olds purist. That's fine. However, it is cheap & easy if this guy woulda started with the correct parts from the get go. If V8 Monte or V8 Malibu motor mounts would have been purchased this would be a non-issue. I bought V8 Monte Carlo mounts for...

    Exterior Paint Identification

I did some digging on another site. It's the middle paint code. 12M is Silver Metallic. And the 19L is ignored if a middle code is selected. Yeah for ME!!! You can buy me a virtual beer. LOL!! http://www.gnttype.org/numbers/rpo.html
