Hey guys, it's been a while but this got put on hold since I ended up going efi last summer but I will be putting the trans in a couple of weeks.

I bit the bullet and ordered the hughes deep pan. I originally put in a 700r4 filter with the stock pan but didn't feel comfortable forcing it a bit.

With the hughes pan you still have to grind the stands as it doesn't let the pan sit flush with the filter.

This is the vaccum switch for the lockup. the kit from painless came with the brake switch, solenoid and plug.

I bought this filter before I got the pan. I now have an extra one that came with the pan. It is a high flow filter

Joe,
Ironically, I was wondering lately if you made any more progress on your new trans.

The Hughes pan now comes with the 700R4 filter, correct? My pan has always seeped and I run the early 4L60E filter in my Hughes pan.

Yes. the pan comes with the 700R4 filter.
The B96 atp filter is what hughes uses. I bought a filter before I got the deep pan but I didn't feel comfortable with having to hold the stock pan to tighten it with the 700R4 filter.

I bought mine, sold mine, realized how much I missed OD and bought it back for the same price, I sold it from the original buyer. I should have bought a new Hughes pan, this pan has always seeped no matter what has been tried. I have found the early 4L60E filter fits better. I bought them since I had a 94 truck with the 4L60E, they are a bit narrower which makes positioning easier. Like this one. https://m.summitracing.com/parts/wix-58904/none/images#

I installed the transmission today. It all went very good. My friend came over and can't count the amount of times we have taken things apart and back together again. We were reminiscing when we were wrenching as teens and 24 years later were still wrenching away. Anyways.

It all is straight forward. Tomorrow I will finish and go for a spin. I will report then.

Some pics.

Looks good, let us know how it shifts.
