BUILD THREAD 87 Cutlass EFI build: 9/13/23..NEW STUFF!

I was doing a throwback Thursday post on Instagram, figured why not throw it on here too. The first 3 pics are from 2006 when I was prepping to sell the Cutlass. Yep, sell it. I was fed up with it, was burned out and attempted to sell it. Thanks to the guy who lowballed me and pissed me off, or else I wouldn't have the car today! Last 3 pics are obviously the current state of the car which shows how far it's evolved! Enjoy....

Looking to sell? I'll give you $500 for just how it sits right now... 🙂 ...Said the lowball king
No joke, back then I had it listed for $7500 which barely covered the sbc/th350 swap that was only a couple years old. Guy said he saw it online for $1500 and I laughed at him. I had that much in the built heads! Told him thanks but no thanks, pulled it off autotrader the next day.

Made me think about the cars i had back in the 2006 timeframe, most of them were Gbodys, all long gone of course. Your car has come a long way for sure! Im keeping my fingers crossed that mine will continue making progress although ive hit a wall currently.

You're car turned out amazing Scott. I'm really happy for you.

Haven't really done much to the car lately other than drive it! Fixed that front seal leak, still have a weird idle surge when warm, but the season is pretty much done and I have some plans for winter upgrades.
Hoping to take the car next door soon so the neighbor can weld some gas tank mounts on and I can install the GN tank. That'll free up some space for work in the trunk.
Burning led me to this Cutlass that just hit Pull a Part this week. I snagged some goodies as mentioned. Already got the wiring fished, and trunk light mounted. Need to get an LED in there, but it works! Here's a couple cruise pics, and new parts.

I haven't really posted much lately, but I've been busy with a much needed winter upgrade. I was going to stay quiet until complete, but pretty excited with the progress and wanted to share.
Now that the trunk is empty I'm building closeout panels to essentially hide the ugly and make it more show quality. I've never been happy about having the trunk open at shows and want to change that.
This process started months back by making cardboard templates, then a couple weeks ago I bought the plywood and got to work. I'm using cabinet grade birch plywood, and it will be covered with black carpet on the floor and vinyl on the sides which will match the interior. I still have quite a ways to go, but I've been working on it almost every evening for an hour or two the last couple weeks, then basically all today! I'll admit, I have some awesome behind the scenes help here and abroad from some top of the line trimmers which is cool, I'll post pics when warranted.
