BUILD THREAD 87 Cutlass EFI build: 9/13/23..NEW STUFF!

Another update, sweet! Just got home and had a couple packages waiting for me. One is a poly trans mount sent from Jared that I need for the 4L80 and he couldn't use. He sent it on his dime, for that thanks again buddy, I owe ya one!!!
The 2nd package is this trick billet throttle cable bracket. Could I have went with a cheapy...yep! However, those that know me know I'm a picky *ss and a stickler for details. This piece just looks much sleeker! Once the engine is in and I have a lokar cable hooked up it'll look swell! The bracket also came with two billet cable clamps to attach to the side of the intake to keep the install clean looking.

Nice little "pile o parts" there Scott....
Thanks Kevin! Next will be the shift kit, and possibly a rebuild kit. However, I'm still torn on having the trans rebuilt since it's a good unit.
One local race shop wanted a goofy amount to rebuild it, so I'm going to get a couple more quotes on me supplying the trans and parts and just getting a teardown and assembly done. I'm also toying with the idea of rebuilding it myself...one of our awesome members has supplied me with some very detailed(like 100 pages detailed) PDF's of the proper rebuild procedure.

If you have the time, I would go for it!

Oh, and sweet pile of parts there!

Looking good! I think we should suffer the rebuild process together. 😉

Got off work early, so I've been tinkering on the Cutlass. I decided to just temporarily install the 1st astro shaft I modified. Right now the steering wheel is turned 180°, but at least we can move it around easier. Here it is installed.....

I noticed this little piece sticking out of the gearbox(see pic). Is this normal? I've never paid much attention until now.

That dowel sticking out of the gearbox doesn't look normal to me Scott. Mine isn't that way. I'd have to look at it closer to answer for sure but that doesn't look right to me.
