I'm going on a run shortly and I'm driving the Monte. If something is broken I will find out soon enough.
Fun fact. I have a LQ4 that I have been considering putting in the SS. I spoke to a local speed shop about doing some machine work on it yesterday morning for a rebuild. Do you think the SS knows I'm splitting up the "family"???

just talk nice to the SS about an adoption so the SS engine can retire and take it easy.....

now I see your plan, you want this engine to have a major issue so you'll have an excuse to drop the LQ4 in.....🙂
Absolutely not. Was going to sell the 355 & T350 to finance the LQ4 rebuild and install. That's the plan anyway.

Drove the SS a gentle 50 miles. No power loss, missing, smoke, water in oil, etc. Whatever it was only happens under hard acceleration or it was a one time deal. Still going to check the piston to plug clearance and get some different plugs to improve clearance.

How big are the domes on the pistons in this engine? What heads are they?
Edbrelock 6061 aluminum with roller rockers. Don't have a pic of the pistons but I'm sure they are flat with valve relief.
