Suck N Blow Monte

I did some work on the car this weekend. Friday night I decided to go a head and paint my coil and ignition box black. It was in the 50's. Scuffed them, primred them, and painted them black. Saturday afternoon I mounted all the parts I have been working on. View attachment 81646 I finalized my decision on how I wanted my intake tube and filter to be. View attachment 81647 View attachment 81648 I made a z bracket out of some bar stock to hold the air filter in place. After reading and looking at Jarod's car I feel a little ashamed of how dirty and crapy my engine compartment looks. So today in between coats of paint on some parts, I scrubbed the fender wells and surrounding parts with some solvent on a rag. Looks a little better now. In my defense I keep telling myself this is a driver not a show car, it is just going to get dirty. No more shiny parts now. I painted the breather and intake parts. I will take a picture when I put that stuff back on. Any one enjoying this so far?
Don't feel ashamed Zach. It's a beautiful car. Get it running and driving and enjoy it. Don't let my neurosis hold you back. Stay with it. I'm really enjoying this thread.

Looking good!

I'm really digging this build thread since I will be messing with a draw through system on my Century. For some of you that don't know, Zach sent me an adjustable wastegate for free. That's the kind of guy he is.

I have a draw through turbo from a 301. Also a 4bbl plate but pretty sure it's from a v6 car as the flange pattern is just a bit smaller the turbo pattern. I had the turbo looked over and it was given a clean bill of health. Apparently they have to have the fuel in the compressor to function correctly? I was going to use it in a blow through setup on a 283 but scrapped the idea and went turbo LS instead.

Thank you. Don't let him fool you I am really not that nice, I am kind of an *ss! If you run into a nother part you just can't find, let me know. I will try to help you out. I have no plans of ever putting the draw through stuff back on. Just saving it for the new owner after I am dead. They will never know if something is missing and I really don't care because I will not be around.

I think you made the better choice. I would like to see a picture of that intake. For what I will have into my engine I could have built a 400 horsepower LS, but I wanted to be different. I have a 3800 series two ready to build if I want also. That is why I am trying to spend money on things I can make work with that.
