What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2022]

I do like the idea of something just a little different.. I’ve been toying with the idea of a newer model 3.6 out of a caddy cts. Since i bought my Deville, I really like the northstar, despite it’s bad name with head bolts… I’ve seen a few on copart, (some models were basically a oversized cts with right wheel drive), and thinking about picking up a parts unit and swapping out running gear (irs included).
Don't forget, the Northstar also has the oil leak issue between the crankcase and the block. If you have one out and apply the fixes for its flaws, I'd think it would be a good engine. It would definitely be different, which is cool.

Made a custom light knob today out of some black quartz stone

The original was way longer than necessary
So I shortened the one I made a little bit
Still completely covers the prong when pushed in all the way

Going to squirt some silicone into the hole I drilled in the end and slide it onto the prong and support it in place for a day or so to let the silicone totally go hard

That’ll be strong enough to operate the lights
But weak enough I can pull it off if I need to pull the dash open again in the future

Anyone else have any suggestions for mounting the stone to the metal prong feel free to shoot some ideas

Keeping in mind it needs to be removable worst case

Next is to make a small tab out of the same stone for the wiper lever knob
Stay tuned for that one

It doesn't need to be removable. This shaft your glueing it to is removable. There's a button on the side of the actual switch that you push to remove the knob and shaft as one part

The factory knob was deigned to be removable from the shaft on the cutlass because you can't access the button on the headlight switch till you get the trim panel out of the way. And you can't get the trim panel out of the way till you remove the knob.

Small wiper knob done 🙌🏼

Dry fit in the last photo

Green tape on the light knob is to mark my top centre for fitment

With the limited number of after market options, That custom aspect is something you just can’t beat in my opinion

My Regal wouldn't roll, so I finally got around to taking off the wheels to see what was going on. THe front driver's side caliper was frozen on the rotor. I beat it off with a hammer and finally took the car off of the wheel dollies. What a relief. I also thought that I had a 307, but to my delight, I discovered that I had the Olds 350 in there.

I tried to reinstall the seats while on my win streaking, but of course, I noticed that my floors were shot right under the seat mounting brackets. I could see daylight and all.

Totally agree, can't tell you how many little things I did just so I know it was different while 90% of people wouldn't notice

Nothing. Did get to the shop yesterday but that excursion was to bring the snowblower out to play. Paying for that today. -40 is cold in either method of measurement. Five minutes in the cold air equals 15-20 minutes of coughing once back in the house. Seems like my lungs can tolerate the cold air to some degree but when I get back in the house and they have to deal with warm air, the conversion process does not go well right now. Some people walk around with some snoose or dip in their cheek; me?, mine are packed with cough candies! Not sure how many times a person can contract bronchitis before the lungs become permanently damaged.
