Currently the scanner is saying I have to much fuel pressure it actually said rail pressure to high. From what I understand that's a program thing because of the cp3 there's a few other codes also. It's all just not things I know about. Literally outside my wheelhouse heck not even on my boat.
I don't know the newer diesel stuff but makes me wonder if the high pressure in the rail is electronically controlled.

So this whole thing ended up being a slam dunk. TCC slippage is gone, truck is more responsive and a jillion times quieter with the new fan clutch, and I squirted some Lucas into the PS pump and that shut it up and smoothed out its operation. I got $40 more than I asked for labor too, so he must be happy.

So I was full of crap, no slam dunk. Sure I fixed the slip code, but the thing still leaked out the butt. I yanked the driveshaft, poured some ATF into the yoke and it came drizzling out.

Boom smoking gun! Actually not so much. Turns out this was a thing back in 97.

Well I suppose that beats dealing with a u-joint to weld the breather hole shut. I prefer having the answers on hand and not scrambling for them to turn a car around in a day.

There's an O-Ring on the output shaft of some to prevent that.

I drove my truck home last night! Of course summer is about over so it was in a rain storm but I drove my truck home for the first time sense we had snow! It only has 1 tune now and it's a very conservative 100 HP he first tried my Ez-link and when he got in it wanted a credit card payment of $600 so he went EFI live he did 1 tune just to get me up and running. He did it cheap because he knows the situation I'm in he also said bring it to him when I get about 500 miles on it to see how it learned and then for an additional cost he will read it and wright new tunes so the 5 position switch in the dashboard works. He said it's actually making less power than it has sense I bought it but it's a starting point to make it drivable. I'll keep you posted on how it goes using it. He said to drive it easy while it's learning.

Glad to hear this. Been waiting for this post!

Taking it easy on it is not a bad thing. You had it pretty far apart.

It's a good feeling to have it driving. Yea let it learn the extents it needs to, it'll adapt to how you drive and go from there. You'll notice at some points it'll run differently each time.
