377 CiD? Nice little screamer. What gears do you plan to run with it?
Me? I'm on the bench until the end of January, no work, no option, no joy. Blood Pressure went ballistic on the weekend and when I hit the Emerg to get it checked out the Cardiologist took one look at the strips and admitted me on the spot. Turns out that having Bradycardia makes you susceptible to Hypertension or High Blood Pressure and mine had blown so high my cuff could not read it!! So me being me, I drove over to the Emerg, parked my S-10 in the E-lot, and Walked up the stairs to the emerg entrance. The triage nurse took my vital signs and couldn't figure out why I hadn't fallen over and passed out. Called a porter and in I went.
Long story short, 24 hours after admittance, I'm on the table, in comes the cutter and 20 minutes later, after an hour or two of waiting in pre-op I have a brand new pacemaker embedded in me. For the curious, this is a live procedure, you do not get knocked out. Just a mild sedative to clip off the high spots. You get to feel the scalpel when it parts the waters, so to speak. You feel everything as the leads get threaded into position. You get to lay there and listen to the surgeon recite any and everything that can go wrong.
And 24 hours or so after that, I'm back on the street, back in my S-10, the heat turned to Sahara Level and on my way home, I have only one hand/arm to really steer with. Post op instructions are brutally specific, no arm motion above the shoulder or over the head. Why? If you do, it can pull the sutures and then you get to go back to emerg, get yelled at a lot, and maybe fixed or maybe have to go elsewhere to have the work removed and done over. High rate of infection for do overs as well as high possibility of cardiac arrest and your name then appearing in the funny papers.
So everything gets to get dusty while I heal. Good thing I was able to complete the basic cleaning of the head intake port gasket faces and the valley cover on the 5.3 but the inner door skin for the Monte is going to have to sit for a while. Good thing I remembered to turn off all the heavies at the sub board. Doesn't affect my typing, I set the keyboard shelf lower than usual when I first modified this desk to avoid carpel tunnel; means my hands are about in my lap as is.
So, bottom line is no cute pictures or weird looking tools or projects will be appearing for a bit.
